and the capitals are back and playing good hockey. makes things better for hockey in my opinion.

No, if it was technically sold, it was sold. Agreeable terms may have been reached, but that's far from "sold". That said, I was certainly fearing the worst.
Drafting Crosby certainly changed a lot...not to mention Malkin. Shero deserves a lot of credit for what he's been able to do. He clearly "won" the trade deadline this season...jury is still out if that's meaningful or not.

What amazed me early in the year was everyone questioning if Ovi was the player he had been. All I could think about was "yeah, he's still a beast, and when the sleeping giant Ovi wakes up he'll be tearing it up". There was no doubt in my mind Ovi would break out, he's too damn good of a player not to. He sure has hell has torn it up here lately!

Anyone else notice the refs have been calling the game like it's 1990 again recently? Guys are hitching on for free rides all over the ice and interfering away from the play without calls. I don't know why something that's a penalty at the start of the season isn't a penalty at the end.

Yeah, no doubt about that! The Pens were definitely lacking the toughness that he brings to the party...and now that he's beginning to gel with his line-mates, he's bringing some offense as well (3 pts last night).

4 of the Pens 6 goals came from their recent trade acquisitions (with the other 2 coming from a preseason trade acquisition)...gotta give some props to Shero for the way he builds a team.
