I don't mind the picks and hooks as much as the slashes and dirty shit away from the play. In my opinion, if the blade is turned out you should be able to place the stick on the opponent anywhere between waist and armpit as long as you aren't also interfering with the stick. The Taint Poois Blueballs (No insult intended to the city itself.) were pulling a lot of stickwork and tripping and sloughfooting away from the puck the other night in full view of the refs and they'd just look away. They were missing penalties both ways. I don't want to come off as a total homer, it's just bad officiating all around. And the worst part is the worst performances are coming from the guys that have been officiating for the longest time.

Back then the goalies were the smallest least athletic guys on the team. Now it's usually the opposite. I bet shot blocking by defense and forwards is quite a bit higher now too.

I have noticed the officials have been letting the boys play and I'm 100% fine with that just as long as they are consistent in what they are letting go or not calling.

A game where each team goes on the PP 6-8 times each is a bad for business and makes for a boring special teams games. The game is great when there is constant flow to it, not constant flow of players going to the penalty box.
