I guess I'm just more of a defense creates offense kind of guy. It wan't the Pens defense that hindered the B's scoring it was the play of the Vokoun. When the net minders had an offnight (game 2) the goal light was on an awful lot. The only real difference I saw in games 1,3,and 4..was that Vokhoun played much better. the Pens didn't really make any discernable adjustments to their defensive game at all. I place that responsibility soley on the coach. Sure he has a fantastic offensive team, but when he played a team that puts full ice defense to the forefront of their gameplan, stifling the offensive prowness of a firepower like the Pens, he didn't know how to handle the situation. If hockey had offensive and defensive coordinators,......Bylsma would be a fantastic coordinator. but as a head coach....he leaves a lot to be desired and, to me at least, that fact became apparent in that last seriesI live on the edge of danger facing life and death every single day.....then I leave her at home and go disarm bombs.

I agree Bylsma cannot put the puck in the net but I think he was out coached and went into the series with the wrong type of game plan. Hindsight is 20-20 but I think trying to be all big, badass and physical in games 1 and 2 was a mistake. The Bruins are nto going to be intimidated by any physicalities. Stick to what got you there, not what other teams did to get there. They got off to a bad start in the series and the Bruin momentum began snowballing. When Pitt adjusted it was too late as Raask turned to concrete. Too close of a margin of error and too hard to climb out of a hole when a netminder gets in that zone.shawnlutz.com
