  • Picked up a VMax this weekend

2000 model, 10k moles. Holy Jesus. There's faster bikes out there, but NOTHING I've ridden gives you power and grins like this thing when you twist the throttle. My last bike was a gsxr 1100, technically faster, but all the real power was up past 7k. The max wants to throw you off the back right off idle.
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

I know the diehards speak godly about the old V-max, yet often fail to mention you need to strengthen the crap out of it, to not write it off within a few months
bet you don't need all that bull on the new one

Grats, and ride it like you stole it

I had one and the best way I can describe this bike with all that power...is..... angry at the fuggin world! As you said, there are faster bikes, but, none have the gutwrenching torque that bike has. Again, its just angry at the world.-Lou

Do the new ones still handle like a pig on a skateboard? Great for straight lines, but on bendy roads...not so great.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

          I nearly broke her back

Lol 2000 model.. It is the 'old' one. Handling? Meh. I had a gsxr. This is totally different. All about the throttle.

Congrats! A good friend of mine got one a few years back, after I had bought his R6. Same comments as others have said - crappy handling, but instant power (and smiles) when you twist the throttle. And much more comfortable than a sportbike. I never got a chance to ride it before I moved, and he sold it a few years ago, but he still talks about that bike.
