      From Hockey News:

      “The season started off
with so much promise for Tim Thomas. Back in the NHL after a self-imposed
one-year sabbatical, the Stanley Cup-winning goalie had a new team in the
Florida Panthers and his first win in a season-opening 4-2 triumph over
      Dallas.

Then, the wheels fell off in St. Louis. Thomas gave up five goals
before getting yanked, then came out bewildered against Philadelphia Tuesday
night. After giving up two goals on five shots, he came out of the game with a
slight groin injury, but the mental trouble Thomas was having with the way the
puck was bouncing off the boards behind him suggested a little yoga wasn’t going
to fix the issue. Thomas is currently lugging around a 5.05 goals-against
      average and .850 save percentage.

The game today is faster, stronger and
incredibly skilled: If the early returns from Thomas are any indication, you
simply can’t take a year off anymore. Even young players who have been sidelined
      find the road back difficult.

While it’s great to have the cagey Thomas
back in the league, no one’s been taking it easy on him once the puck drops and
if his play doesn’t improve, his nice storylines are going to become little more
      than footnotes.”

Don't count Thomas out...his entire career is all about proving the world wrong. I think he'll get his game back. Probably won't see the Thomas of 2011, but he'll be solid again.

there's a puck lodged in my throat. it was a slapshot all the way from San Jose', stuck in my throat. And I gotta go see the rangers tonight in Anaheim. How am I gonna pull this off with this huge lozenge in my throat.what a jackrolling, and Nash got hurt, so that makes Callahan, Hagelin, and nash out, our three best offensive players. gonna be a while till they start winning.

Wings were way too flat last night. After 3 games in 4 nights and then 4 1/2 days w/o any game. I was bouncing back and forth between the Tigers and Wings and just happen to cap this...look at the fan in the left

the wings were flat? that's a laugh. Rangers have 6 goals, and 20 given up. not the start I was looking for. without Nash they are a bottom feeder it looks like so far.need to get some guys back.

Damn Tommy, I'm real surprised at the Rangers. It seems like without Torts their compete level has went to hell in a handbasket. The only team I wish performance levels like that on is the Flyers...

without nash, and hagelin, it's still ridiculous. Callahan's came back last night, but what I don't understand is how do 18 players lose their ability in one offseason.still plenty of time, niot giving up just wide eyed how bad they look.

Penguins looked to be in post season form tonight. Florida clogged up the neutral zone, and forechecked them into their typical post season choke fest. Once again, Bylsma gets totally out coached, and the goalie takes a shellacing for the Penguins ineffectivness against any kind of trap. They just keep trying to skate through it, and keep turning it over.

The Pens never really stood a chance tonight, you could just tell. It's sad when the Pens fourth line was hands down the best line tonight. One of these days the Pens may learn the merits of chip and chasing.

Gotta give it to the Panthers, they were all over the Pens from the first drop of the puck.

That was lame too. Clearly not a head shot. Good solid hit to the chest.

SJ is playing really well... too bad Raffi won't be playing for a while.

Still pisses me off. The Pens lose to a team that got totally shellaced the night before, and the Panthers make them looks like chumps. I put the blame squarely on Bylsma's shoulders. When he gets outcoached, it's all over but the crying. That man can not adjust his game plan when the other team comes out to shut his only game plan down. The only thing he changes is double shifting Malkin or Crosby with the fourth line. Hell, even the two headed monster of Malkin and Crosby isn't as effective as it used to be, which used to be his only back up game plan.

the team is loaded, and they will be there in the end. my team is off to a blistering 1-4 start, shows no signs of grit, and has been getting jackrolled nightly. the only comfort is that so far their opponents are a combined 21-5, leaving me with a tiny bit of hope that it can be all turned around.
