This is what the league set itself up for if you ask me. Players need to police themselves and fines and suspensions do nothing for the player injured by a cheap shot. While this was an ugly incident it had to happen. Refs should be smart enough to know things will escalate when a team sees one of its players down on the ice and no penalty called. Two wrongs don't make a right but at least Orpik knew he was in a scrum situation whereas Marchant was just getting up when Neal purposely put his knee into the side of his head. For Orpik to drop the gloves at that point is stupid...His team has the lead bro. The last thing you want to do when your team is winning is take a stupid penalty. I didn't see Orpik Fight with Greg Campbell either????? Cook is a scum bag and I am glad he's gone and I also think what Neal did is no better than what Thornton did they should both be suspended...I don't support anyone who plays like that. in the end, the pens tanked that game away with under 2 minutes to go. unacceptable. as far as the extracurricular activities, scumbag moves across the board, endless ones, I gotta say I was glued to the t.v. watching things escalate. I love hockey so much. I mean, I assure you, I hate both of those fucking teams and I was spraying my shorts watching that game on the nhl network.
