Awful quiet in here...no comments on last nights OT loss Tommy?

Pens are actually kicking some ass lately (11-1 in their last 12)...made all the more amazing with the majority of their top blue liners on the shelf.

Not to mention two of their best forwards being out as well.(Neal suspension) (Malkin injured) The rangers suck. They're just Flyers in blue jerseys.

woohoo...Wings snap 6 game losing streak. Got the OT monkey of the back last night at the Joe.

They now need to get some bodies back keep treading water as they fell too far already the last month.

Bruins have kept winning too despite injuries-suspensions-the flu etc....well until they mailed that game in last night against the sabres!!


& Thorntons appeal is today....sure to be denied by Betteman!!

I'd love to see Bettman tack another five games onto the suspension for Thornton being a dumb ass for appealing it in the first place. To me it's no worse than when McSorley took his stick upside Brashear's head, not that Brashear didn't deserve it though...

Dumbass?? Appeal is within his rights as an NHL player....a long-time well-respected NHL player!!


IMO 15 games is ridiculous....more proof there is NO consistency from Shanahan & the league!!

I agree. He'd be a moron if he didn't appeal. I do believe we're talking about roughly 90K in salary this suspension is going to cost him. Even if his appeal gets denied they WILL NOT tack more games on to the suspension. That's just ludicrous at best and infantile in it's conception. I am a huge penguins fan but....I am a bigger hockey fan and what he did was nowhere near as bad as what McSorley did and even comparing the two incidents is just stupid. You can't compare punching a downed player in the face a few times with your gloves on to using a hockey stick to strike a man in the skull. He should have been suspended five to seven games at the most. There also is no consistency from the league when it comes to disciplinary actions. I've seen repeat offenders do much worse and receive far less many, many times. What Thorton did was wrong no doubt about it but was it any worse than what James Neal did that night? I really don't see much difference. Thorton and Neal should have both gotten the same suspension because they're both respected players with no history of these kind of heinous acts. Be objective as a viewer not a clown, fan boys or sheep.

If a Penguin had done the same thing to another player I'd be the first to say throw the book at them. Yes Thornton's a dumbass, he did something insanely stupid. Yes, in my opinion it's as bad if not worse than McSorley taking his stick to the head of Brashear. Thornton slew foots Orpik, then hits him in the back of the head (SUCKER PUNCHES) from behind, and gives him a few more shots while he's on the ice obviously defenseless, and some think fifteen games is "too harsh"? You gotta be out of your fuggin mind. I respect the fighters who after they've toe to toed with someone they've knocked the fuck out of holding onto them while they're going down, and waving the trainers over.

What Thornton did was a fuggin cheap shot move, and warrants at a minimum the 15 games he got. I would have been happier with twenty, but what he received was reasonable for his insanely stupid decision. So what if he has a clean record, he sure as hell doesn't have one now...

Sure he's within his rights to appeal, but it's still a dumbass move for someone who clearly deserves the fuggin punishment he received. Yes, I would love to see more get tacked on, but I really just said that in jest. Some of you all are wound up too tight about this, then again, what should we really expect from a Bruins fan?!

Maybe... but the pens fans as a whole can't actually help it. For that I apologize. But you can't help it. You've been listening to Maria and Syndey cry and whine for how long now? Call me a douche. Ouch. But when was the last time a career was ended by a Bruins cheap shot? Exactly. However, it's a culture down there. We can take out your best player, but don't you dare touch our superstar.
