Anybody with powder coating knowledge? Need to I.D a powder gun...

Hey guys,

A while back I had a thread where I traded some business equipment for a powder coating system. Since the business was half mine, this powder coating setup is half mine as well and since the other guy doesn't want to do anything with it I'm selling it and splitting the money. I spent about $1500 on my half of the original business and it looks like I'm going to get bent over selling this powder coating setup.

The system sells for around $600 new, but the guy that I traded with said he spent a lot more to get a commercial powder gun and I can't find, no matter how hard I try, how much the gun cost. The gun can be taken apart and cleaned, while the stock guns can't.

I need a little help trying to price this setup.

Looks like a Huamei/Purion ( both are built by the same company....just different brand name ) spray gun. They are of Chinese build and quality......probably around $200-ish tops.

I forgot to mention the brand. The system and gun say Spectracoat. I believed Spectracoat bought the rights from a Chinese company, so Huamei/Purion probably built the gun, like you said. Spectracoat has a new gun thats black/grey and it can't be taken apart to clean. It sells for around $300 new, thats why I was hoping my gun would be worth a little more but, it probably isn't.

Looks like I'm going to have to sell this setup for less than a $1,000. Most expensive business lesson I've learned...
