    Is there a way to make pictures posted here not searchable by Google?

    When i goto Google and enter my screen name
    there's a lot of jcf results
    including serial numbers and pictures that i didn't post but did respond to.

    My main concern is the serial numbers and other personal data posts. When i post that stuffyhere, i want it here, not everywhere.

    I am just curious if i can do something in the html when posting that would not put it on Google?

    You can try posting links instead of pics, but that will just keep your images from coming up in Google Images.

    And why are you Googling your screen name? Expecting Angelina Jolie or Morgan Freeman to show up and tell you that you're a gifted assassin?

        If you don't want it publicly accessible, then don't put it on the internet. Plain and simple.

        The shit that pisses me off is stuff like facebook or twitter when they pop up saying "why don't you import your contacts from your phone? It will make finding friends much easier!". Now facebook has my personal contact info because some dolt who has me in their contacts allowed them to import my info without my consent. People these days have a serious lack of regard for personal information and what should be kept private. And not just their own, but other people's info too.

          They probably didn't realize that the info would be publicly viewable, and socialist networking sites typically don't display the gory details about that, at least not with as much fanfare as the "feature" they're touting. There might be a little * or "find out more" link that no one clicks, but even then it's buried under a lot of ipso facto and license agreement wall of text that no one reads anyway.

            @Newc
            I do post links instead of pictures. Or do you mean links people need to click? I use the links that show the image.
            Usually, the pictures are uploaded to my website but marked private. Therefore, you can't see them on the site but the image shows here.

            @codex
            There are plenty of sites that do not show in search, and just as many that only certain things appear.
            I am not asking for hermit-style privacy, otherwise I wouldn't post it. I am asking, now that I know this stuff appears, if there is anything that can be done that certain things do not appear.
            I am willing to share, let's say, the work order for a Jackson, with this site because we may have a use for it. But does the world need to see an image of the little brown tag to see that I own serial 4129.

              Don't use the image tags/insert image tool if you want to share an image.
              Just post a link to the image.

                  That's what I was saying - the text, clickable link only. Not a thumbnail you have to click to see the full size, and not the full size, but the http://www.heresmypics.com/myimage.jpg

                  Or you could disallow direct linking from your host (if it has that option), and look into setting things up so you have to be a member of the hosting site (Photofucket, etc) to see the pics. Won't get many people signing up for an account just to see your pics, but at least your pics won't be broadcast over Google.

                  However, if you disallow direct linking, you won't be able to post them here, either, just the text link, and we're right back where we started.
