Just wanted to do an intro and post a few pics. Since I have a Charvel and was finally able to buy an RR1 I decided to see what other owners are up to so here I am. Both guitars are currently getting new pickups installed but here are some shots when they first arrived. The Charvel USA So-Cal is from the 8th batch and bought it about a year ago. I found a music store that had a dozen USA Charvel's packed away and couldn't resist the slime green. I don't know why this particular color looked so appealing to me but Charvel did a great job on them so I'm very happy with it.

The Jackson USA RR1 was purchased 2 weeks ago brand new. I'm sure you guys have seen plenty of Jackson's with the Lightning Sky but here's a couple more. My amp is a Mesa Boogie Rectifier mini 25 with a 1x12 cabinet. The only pedals I use are a tuner and a Maxon OD-820 Over Drive Pro. I'll be in the market soon for a half stack so hopefully you guys can help me out in choosing the right one.

Welcome aboard bro! I love the slime Green Charvel. May I ask why you decided to change the pick ups? They both come with pretty nice stock pick ups and also what are you changing them to?

I like the DiMarzio pups, always got a great tone out of them, I kept the Evolution in the neck but replaced the bridge with a Bare Knuckle ceramic Warpig just to push things a little bit.

Well that answers half the question. Did I read the post wrong or did you say you're having the pick ups changed in "Both" guitars? If so what are you doing to the RR1?

Yup both guitars are getting new pickups. The Charvel gets a BK ceramic Warpig in the bridge, the evolution stays in the neck, and the RR1 is getting a Bare Knuckle ceramic Miracle Man in the bridge and a BK Cold Sweat for the neck. Like the Charvel I'm just pushing for a little more tone.

I don't know man. I like the Bareknuckles a lot but I definitely like Duncans or EMG's better. In my opinion it's hard to find a better bridge pick up than a JB. It's super versatile and full of good tones.

I'm actually a whore so I love 'em all. Bought a ZL1 last year and these garages fill up fast! Got the Z over 600hp after a few mods at Nickey in Illinois and after a few more that car will be tracked. How about some videos and some pics?

There's something about the high output ceramic magnet pups that I can't turn away from. I can only describe it as raw. I'm sure many wouldn't like the Warpig or the Miracle Man in an alder guitar thinking the high's would be too harsh and the bass too boomy. The Duncan's will get me back though eventually. I never really found a replacement for the Duncan's so sooner or later I end up back with "old reliable".
