I still have the odd beer or two from time to time, but I don't like to get that drunk anymore. I've found everything I've ever said that I regretted saying was said when I was fairly drunk. I'm a big enough asshole when I'm sober. Give me a couple puffs, some form of junk food and a couch and I'm a happy camper. And no hangovers.

Yeah but we are surely getting much closer on that then we ever have before. So much safer than alcohol on so many levels. Also ingesting it eliminates the carcinogen aspect. Medical is approved in my state now and this ultra conservative town is putting in 2 drive-thru stores.

I have been saying this for YEARS, You could not be more right. It works every time, no chasing High, For me it is a godsend, I am totally disabled from having multiple back surgeries that unfortunately failed. A stanker put me in a good mood, and allows escape from the pain for awile. Everyone that smokes will do it anyway, so why not alleviate some debt and the people that know they are doing can have it for free! Did I mention that the shit grows out of the damn ground, duh, it has never made any sense. If my child were to engage in it, I would feel much better than if said child drank 12 pack hit a tree, got in a fight, the list goes on... Politicians are supposed to be the authority on human existence, they don't know sh@t! Imagine if congress all smoked before a debate, I think the probability of a successful outcome would be a lot easier, and everyone would get along. Ha!!!!!!!!!

I am not in favor of bullshit excuses as to why it should be legal. Its legal because it is a plant. You can smoke it if you want, just like you can smoke your damn pine cones and banana peels if that is what you want to do with it.

You'll get a hangover once you start partying all night in public while puffing away. As I stated before, I can get a 'hangover' without drinking due to environment.
You'll see an increase is dui/dwh accidents once it is legal and people can be in public without fear of arrest... assuming we learn how to test for it like we do alcohol.
You will find out that pot causes cancer just like everything else does, once we can openly smoke and admit to smoking and properly study those who do.

wrong. I work closely with cancer patients, and voluntarily I might add. I've given them hash oil, and other related products that give them an appetite so they can eat so they can stop losing weight so quickly and wither away and die. it also "does" kill pain in many people. it also has about 4000 other uses that could benefit this country. open your eyes. chemo is a brutal way to try and beat cancer or have it go to remission. it's big business that doesn't do anything in the end. pot is and hash oil in particular is medicine that actually works.

So, eating is healthy for them. I think most people know that eating is good for you. They aren't eating the pot. Therefore, its not the pot that is good for them. Even if they were eating it, its the act of eating, not the pot.

Yes, it 'kills' pain. That's why most people get high. To dull the pain of life. Sobriety hurts. It dulls most of the senses. Of course it will do the same for sick people, that's a no brainer.

Hey, did you know that smoking cigarettes is good for Parkinson's Disease? Alzheimer's too. Again, I don't see anyone asking that cigarette taxes be lowered so the sick can afford it.

I don't think PG is disagreeing with you, but pointing out that while there is a kernel of truth to the claims of marijuana's medicinal value, there also is a shell of hypocrisy and deception around it all. Frankly I agree. One example is that kid with the seizures who is helped enormously by medical marijuana. The family is trying to find strains that are high in CBD but low in THC (the psychoactive ingredient). However, they are having a hard time because the medical marijuana industry is ALL ABOUT harvesting the psychoactive version. It wouldn't take much for them to purify a stronger CBD strain and actually focus on helping people for real, but no. It's a disgrace, and I'm pro-legalization (despite not being a smoker).

Agree and disagree. I would say your argument is true about the majority of people heralding the legalization but it surely isn't that black and white. The medical advantages are great compared to the side effects of the drugs that are prescribed simply because there are less side effects. When talking about marijuana being legalized I am not talking about it medically, I am talking about recreational use. I fully believe it should be, although my days of smoking it personally are behind me ( I get to introspective and paranoid not enjoyable) and I agree that a higher rate ( pun intended) of DUI would be there but I don't think it would be proportionate to alcohol abuse. We know of the cases of death from alcohol or hard drugs we see them daily, the marijuana deaths have happened but are virtually nil. Trust me though I fully understand your heralding the hypocrisy of a lot of the advocates.
