  • Why is forum perfomance so poor lately?

At times, the entire site is down and won't load. Other times, it loads but is excruciatingly slow. Posts take forever to be processed. Double posts happen. The "New Posts" function errors out at times.

    What is going on?

I don't have a clue but we're probably running on an aging, antiquated server which probably shouldn't be lit up in production.

Seriously, I have bee cursed with impatience and a slow moving board will certainly keep me away

Ive always noticed this. Things take a long time to load sometimes or you get the error page. Then I go hit up the Jeep forum and that comes up just fine. Its been more of a problem lately though.

Hunt down Jeremy and see what he's going to do about his forum needing to be updated...

That may have something to do with the less than 600 active members.

I see that 'database error' issue a few times a day

It doesn't seem like it's been a slow, creeping decline consistent with obsoleting hardware and software. Instead, it's as if somebody flipped a "slow" switch a week or two ago.

Yeah it's been really slow here too, although I don't get any error messages.

It's been really bad all week for me. Pretty much a deterrent.
