I have yet to ever try a Glock and I know nothing about the Springfield's. I was always a Ruger and Winchester fanatic. I'm so out of touch with guns I feel like asking probably too many questions, I'm looking up info as I go but maybe you guys can help me with a few things.
That Sig Sauer I bought is a real nice well made gun but I think some of my money went to the gun and the rest went to the name. Do you all feel the same about them?
What the hell happened to all the ammunition in this country? I could find only 1 box of 9mm after hitting a few stores. Are people hoarding all the ammo or something? Dafuq!
Is there a website you guys order your ammo from?

I buy all of my pistol ammo from a local store in Fayetteville, NC. It's staffed by a few ex-3rd Group dudes and I was paying $15/box for 124gr Federal 9mm before I deployed. I would usually pick up either a full case of 1000rds, or I'd swoop in and grab 200-250rds before a range trip. It was just depending on what they had in stock. I buy my rifle ammo from a few places online, but frequent the two below the most.
You pay for the name and marketing a lot nowadays. My Glocks are probably $100 handguns sold for $500. They go bang every single time, and they're just tools, so I don't lose much sleep over it.
Bulk ammo for sale including surplus, Hornady, Winchester and many other brands. Cheap, in-stock pistol & rifle rounds with fast shipping today.
Hope this helps.

I am an LCP guy. It goes where I go and I am very comfortable with it. Also.... I have put about 500 rounds through it (fairly painful rounds) and it has never even hiccup'd using every kind of 380 ammo I could find. From super cheap old to expensive personal protection rounds. It chews up everything.

sgammo.com is great... some of the lowest prices around....
Here's my primary handgun... it's mid-size, but the grip is thinner than most full size double stacks, so it's somewhat concealable.

Another plus one for SGammo.com here too. Also, PalmettoStateArmory.com and Aimsurplus.com have been running some good sales on ammo recently too. I buy in bulk, a thousand rounds at a time online, and pick up ammo at my local Wal Mart when I can. Wally World normally has pretty good prices on their ammo too.

ZL1hawk, if you look at other handguns down the road take a look at Springfield Armory. They make some great handguns, and their customer service is second to none. I've even had their shop do work for me in the past on my Colt 1911's, and have always been pleased with their pricing, customer service, and turnaround time. They're a great company with great products.
For an economy 1911, it's hard to beat a Taurus PT1911. I've had a BUNCH of 1911's, even some semi-custom ones, and the PT1911 I used to own ran with the best of them. If a guy hadn't wanted to trade me a WASR 10/63 AK47 for it I would still have it. I just couldn't pass that trade up.
