The story is long and drawn out, so the basics consist of:
Do I trade my only solid white strat shaped guitar. An Ibanez RGT42dx for a vintage black LTD EC-1000 (2010, with compensated nut).
Both are nice players, but are different players. I only have 3 Ibanez guitars.
Solid snow white polish for satin black.
Only white for another black.
Two humbuckers with a 5way switch (series/parallel/coil) for a two humbucker 3-way.
Money-wise, its about equal. It seems the Ibanez has gone up in value since I got it. With a price of around $400. Which is very similar to a used EC-1000, although I can sometimes find someone willing to do $250.
This all started because I was willing to do my white for his white, and my blue for his black. I have gotten rid of my blue, and he wants to keep his white.
I've been thinking about another EC1000. Either white or black (not vintage). Then this situation came up. But now its not a white one, and its for my only white one.
I can buy an EC1000 any time. They are still being made, and churned out by the thousands. But the Ibanez has been retired and you don't find them for sale daily. And as I said, the used prices have gone up on the ibanez while the ltd used prices are dropping.
The fact that I am even hesitant means I shouldn't do it, right?
