Religion, I know enough to make Christopher Hitchens laugh. Yes, faith, and religion is NOT the same. Just as superstiions and supernatural is NOT the same..

Any belief that resides in your heart should be personal, and NOT herd mentality, systematic bullshit to habor malice or suppressed guilt in any form.

Faith in anything should make one stronger, provide comfort, open minds, and give clarity to logic. To know the difference between apathy, empathy and sympathy. Never to judge, but know good people from human pollution, not based on belief.....if a GOOD person. What's makes a good person? Being credible, accountable and responsible is a good start.

So sad to see what happened in Paris last night, and the innocents and the families of those who were wounded and murdered are in my thought and prayers.


I hope and pray I'm wrong, but I don't think it's going to be too long until something like what happened in Paris hits our shores. I hope France kicks some hadji ass, and hammers them so hard the terrorist's grandchildren's grandchildren will think twice before fucking with someone...

Unfortunately it will. The powers that be insist to manipulate, exploit and use every tragedy of anykind to achieve agendas. The mainstream and all politcal opportunists will use this for leverage..not ours. Even if we agree with what some say, it never seems to matter. It just takes a life of its own and snowballs to kaos.

Israel started and controlled every world war..by whatever means. The control the media, and the masses. They even predict what people choose. They did the impossible and got France involved. No more "Freedom Fries", ..

I see ALOT of long beards on YOUNG arab males here locally. The cleveland and national administration and news keeps beating the war drum between blacks and police. Dismissing ALL black on black crimes including KILING CHILDREN without a single protest from black people. It reminds me of the silence of Arabs after 911. The wanted a Mosque there instead. I see a shitstorm coming and all we can do is prepare ourselves and families as best we can.

Religion and faith are two completely different things.

One is a set of practices, the other is a system of beliefs. More of a guideline for morals than anything else.

Some of the most morally bankrupt people I have ever met in my life claim to follow some denomination, and two of the seven that I blindly trust with my life are atheists. Making a blanket statement about religion and those who follow them is just as foolish as me trying to prove to you that there is a Creator.

Being a Christian is more than reading the Bible. It's about following the teachings of Jesus Christ and using his lessons to help guide you in how you live your life. Many of the core values of Christianity are absent in today's society, and unfortunately, the majority of our youth today are too focused on their hedonistic needs to take a second to do anything of value for their community. We've slowly broken away from being a country that focused on hard work and a sense of community and have instead become a bunch of narcissistic crybabies who scream for equality but look down on anyone who doesn't share THEIR idea of equality.

I am FAR from what you might picture being a model Christian. I volunteer my spare time at an animal rescue, donate food and old clothes to one of our local homeless shelters, and within the same week, I sometimes have to go somewhere and do bad things to bad people. I don't ask for justification for any of this, but I try to help out those who need it and bring justice to those who deserve it the most. And I know that when the time comes, I'll answer for everything that I've done in my life.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is: don't be so ignorant as to make blanket assumptions about people of faith like we're all mindless zealots. But I, like many of the Christians I associate with, try to make the world a better place and help others. The belief of an afterlife is comforting for many, and when you're about to make a breach with a 100% chance of someone going to die within the next 6 seconds, it's also comforting to know that there's someone looking out for you and your Team mates.

Religion can be a wonderful thing, but like anything else in this world, is often abused and the message is perverted.

If you read what I posted which I assume you did, I in no way paint all people of faith as mindless. The MAJORITY are not, that is of any faith. The average Muslim isn't a terrorist. The so called leaders though have a large pool of undereducated and downright impoverished people to take advantage of and why that is such a scary thing. Christianity in this day and age (not always the case in the past) is popular in much more affluent countries and has a much much much smaller pool of scary mindless followers to roust. That being said it exists to scary level even with Christianity just watch Jesus Camp. Note that doesn't represent Christianity in a general way but it does absolutely show the power of religion.

I avidly study religion and I consider myself a very spiritual person. My beliefs aren't really on chart with anything traditional though. I grew up very Christian, required to study the bible for a minimum of two hours a day and I was timed.

I also must say this that Aethism itself has become a religion. Not all atheists but the reverend Richard Dawkins surely has a cult following. It is kind of ironic. I also think the Dawkins/hitchens/Harris thing is really adopted strongly by people who are fresh out of religion and are full of piss and vinegar. Harris might wrongly be lumped with them because he is quite spiritual. His latest book is an excellent read "Waking Up, a guide to spirituality without religion". I will also say though he is still a bit aloof.

Blah blah blah this is honestly my favorite subject and one day I'll gather all my moleskins together on the subject and attempt to edit it and put it out there.

My point being though I don't paint people of faith with a broadstroke by any means. I can't just look past religions track record. Not faith but organized religion.
