Amazon Digital Gift Cards

I don't have an Amazon Account. I don't shop online.

But someone is insisting on giving me an Amazon Digital Card instead of a physical card to a physical store.

What are they?
What do they need to know about me to give it to me?
What do I need to do to get it (get an amazon account, etc)?
Then, once I have it, how do I use it?

Never had one but you would have to use it on amazon, which has everything. You would need name shipping address and your card code to use it.

It is all done digitally, it is not an actual card.

That's sort of the issue.

Well it just has a card number you will use. You just type in the certificate number.
