I still have 2nd guitar, my Ibanez RG620bm, bought it in 1998

then again, I only traded in 2 guitars and offloaded one in the past 19 years of playing
Heh, I still even have my first distortion pedal: Boss Xtortion

Since I'm not a 'high end' guitar buyer, most of the stuff I get doesn't cost an arm and a leg, so I don't have to ditch anything to acquire something else
and even then, If I were to get my "Dream Custom Shop Guitar", it wouldn't be worth selling most of the axes for the few bills they receive
Might as well save up a little longer

I've had this 78 strat since 79 - bought it used. Was my first "real" guitar after I graduated from high school & got my first "real" job at a factory.

Frets were worn down to nothing by about 85. Since then it hadn't had much play time. Just got a refret. Now it rocks again.

My '70 SG that I got in--1970. My first 'real' guitar and I really liked it--obviously.
It doesn't get played anymore as I've gone with whammy bars guitars post EVH
and Jeff Beck. But it's my first good guitar and sent me on my way...

Bought my 78 lp standard in 85- for $400! It was mint then. Still have it. Not so mint now. It's literally seen over 1000 gigs.
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

Ive had my pink HM srat since about 1990 when my buddy sold it to me. Firewood, he called it. LOL. Ive also got a cheap classical guitar that someone gave me back in the 80s that I never play. My daughter took it to college with her to use for a class a few weeks ago. Ive had many of my guitars at least 10 years or so.

1987 - My "sticker" guitar. A Korean? Starforce. Horrible floating trem and humbucker. I had it upgraded with a Kahler and a Duncan SH-8 Invader. It now has a Wilkinson, Sperzels, EMG 89 and EMG S, new fret job. NOBODY ever guesses it's a former cheap POS. Especially after they play it.

I've had my first guitar (1986 Charvel Model 2) that I bought when I was in the military in 1993. The guitar is still almost factory new condition

My '87 Model 4, bought new in 1987. Out of the 20 or so I own, it still sees the most playing time.
