I have a G36 and it is very comfortable to carry. It's deceptive because it doesn't look that much skinnier than the regular frame but wow can you feel the difference when carrying concealed, especially IWB.

Contrary to what many people believe, the VAST majority (read: well over 95%) of violent crime committed with a firearm in the US is done with an illegally acquired weapon, and a lot of it is drug or gang related. When considering the amount of gun related deaths, suicides are also a factor for the total count.
The numbers pale in comparison to the daily deaths resulting from medical malpractice or fatal vehicle accidents. It's simply a tool, and while there are people who like to believe that preventing the sale or ownership of a gun will prevent gun related crime, there is no law against murder or gun free zone sign that will stop someone hell bent on taking a life.
Case in point: Paris, France.
Owning a firearm is a big responsibility, but at the end of the day, I'm ultimately responsible (and obligated) for the well being of myself and my family. Not the government, and not some Law Enforcement Officer who's only minutes away when seconds count. I can fight back if given the need, and while I do carry a handgun concealed every day, it's not Plan A if I get into a bind. It's a tool in the toolbox, and it doesn't give me balls. I've been in combat and I've also drawn my handgun to de-escalate two situations, and if I can make it the rest of my life without having to fire that pistol, that'll be a victory. But I still train almost every day so that I can be ready if I ever need to.

DRM, my house gun is a Glock 19. As usual, you have a most excellent taste in firearms.
Alec, if you ever make it to the good ole US of A, you should hit one of us up for a range session. I'll bet you leave with a big smile on your face, and would to do it again. If you're ever close to West Virginia I'll take you shooting at the local public range.

There hasn't been a single problem in my adult life that I haven't solved with the combination of patience and a surgical application of violence. Luck is for amateurs and hope is for the weak.

Ist not THAT bad Lepard... well.. yet!!! Media blows it up a lot... but there are serious right movements which i am more afraid of! But a gun in the hand of everybody wouldnt help at all! Not in the long run. What would you do if somebody asks you for help! Tell him to go to hell or back to his homecountry... which, in this case is pretty much the same. I dont support the politics of Merkel in this case cause she sais we can "more or less" handle that alone while all the other Countrys in Europe (or a lot of em) deny fugitives to come into their country by building walls and fences. I dont know where it will end... i dont know if letting them in is the right way... i just dont know! Obviously nobody exactly knows what to do!What do you mean... no pointy headstock???

I also love the fact that you never replied or acknowledged this early on in the thread.

It's clear that you look down on gun owners and believe they are inherently evil. Not surprising given during my travels through Asia and Europe, I've always been amazed at how many people believe the problems of the world can be solved by acceptance and empathy.
As for the immigrants, this is a self correcting problem. They'll either stand on their feet and fight back to reclaim their homeland, or they'll die. These people have no interest in assimilating into the modern world and yes, I do have an intimate understanding of how the third world works.
We left a massive void of power in the region when we just left Iraq and tried to make them adopt our modern Democracy. These people don't think like we do and have different values. They don't want to be German citizens; they want to be Syrians in Germany.
Either help them reclaim their homeland, or if they lack the stones to try, let nature run its course.
Not every problem in the world should fall onto the shoulders of NATO.

I didnt reply to this because this drawer is always opened in a gun related discussions... the slaughter of the jews... Nazi Germany... you guys really think that guns in the hands of citizens or in that case, Jews, would have prevented the slaughter! Well i know different...
And i never wanted to Insult anybody... i just said that i dont understand american's appreciation for guns. I still dont understand it... i even said explicitly "no offense".
It should be ok to talk about it... it should be ok to do it even in a "We like Guns"-Thread!
Again... no offense! Just my opinion! What do you mean... no pointy headstock???

Elaborate further on how you know that if the people had the right to defend themselves and fight back it wouldn't have helped stop the genocide of over 11 million innocent people.
A government should never be more powerful than its citizens.
