  • Really far out question...

Does anyone here have any connection at all to Jim Henson productions or their parent company (I assume Disney)? There's a particular piece of music I'm interested in. It's the menu music to "kermits swamp years." A Google search reveals nothing of who did it whether in house or an artist. I really like the tune and want to know if there's a full version or even just a sound file somewhere.

My kids have the movie and it's a real catchy, well done piece of music. Especially the bass guitar parts.

    This probably does not help..
We contacted the Sesame Street folks (Children's Television Workshop?) about 5 years ago in regards to licensing our cover of "Ladybug Picnic". They were easy to contact directly (no law firm middle man), super people, and easy to work with. They were excited that we were covering their favorite SS song ever.

I would guess that Henson's group or Disney is probably too big to be bothered but maybe you can get their attention, or their lawyer's attention, if you say you want to record it and sell it.

This is a long shot, but believe it or not, the end credits for the movie are on youtube. It's the vhs version, though, so it wouldn't list menu music from the dvd. But, it might be possible that one of the tunes from the movie is used as the dvd menu music. The music credits are at 3:19 here:

and the first tune, Zip Zibbit Za Ba (by Joe Carroll & Peter Thom), has a pretty sweet bass line, so I wonder if it might be the music you're thinking of:

-edit- I can't believe it, but they have the dvd menu up on youtube, too. Only a couple of seconds of the tune at about :33, but it definitely sounds like Zip Zibbit Za Ba to me:

its not far out at all, it simply shows your ears are open and have a wide variety in taste of music. it's a gift! a true music lover.
listening to metal or some other type of music only, is ridiculous, you're only ripping yourself off ya know?
Not helping the situation since 1965!
