    Dave Mustaine = shit guitar player

    Is it just me? Any time I see or hear Mustaine playing outwith a Megadeth album or live video he seems to have no idea how to play the fucking guitar. Anyone who watched the symphony orchestra thing will have an idea what I mean, and here's another piece of evidence:


    There's one part there which he compares to the Beatles and he fucks it right up then says "I haven't played it in a while". Like Megadeth EVER stopped playing "Holy Wars". I might forget how to play a song I wrote but a God like Mustaine?!

    I'm in no way bashing the guy, he's a major hero of mine. I just don't get how he's so incredibly sloppy. It defies reason. I mean he's doing that lesson telling us how to palm mute as if that's the hardest part. Like no one knew how to palm mute in 2009 when that was filmed.

    Mustaine is the Jimmy Page of metal.

    And they're probably my biggest guitar heroes, sorry for the click-bait thread title!

    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

      I always thought his playing was subpar ever since his Saturday night palsy episode. And he still plays better than I ever have/will

              Wasn't there a Vid of George Lynch fucking up beyond all that was humanely possible for his level of technique, while apparently being 'zoned out' a few years back

                      what a twat. I had to stop the video at 2:29 - he's so full of shit. "never practices" uh-huh - THAT'S why he can't play his own riffs that well.....
                      GEAR:

                      some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

                      some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

                      and finally....

                      i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

                            The dude has wrote hundreds of some of the best metal songs in existence over the span of 30 years... I can barely remember shit I wrote two weeks ago. I think he gets a pass on this one.

                              I've seen him play amazingly well and also super sloppy.

                              Those first 4 records...I don't care how sloppy he is, each of those songs is a holy grail of riffs that shaped my guitar playing.

                              I can deal with his sloppy playing, just wish he'd never talk
