Yeah, that symphony thing was awful. I always thought he was a bit of a hack as a lead player but a very solid rhythm player. But I'm with venomboy, I wish he'd shut up. He seems to have a bit of an extreme personality and it hasn't gotten better over the years, it seems...

I agree with Rob. I don't think this video is indicative of him being a good player or not. Honestly I think it comes down to him being a really bad teacher, and very uncomfortable doing it. I am pretty sure if you saw him plug in when he wants to plug in, a show, recording etc..., he would sound great. I have seen them more times than I can count, and have never heard him play poorly. As for him not talking, well you get what you get with Dave. He has always been, shall we say "outspoken", whats changed is what he is "outspoken" about. I honestly think all musicians should stop talking and just play. The more they talk, the less I like them."I have so much gayness at times.
