Cheapest country to buy good gear and bring it home?

You know how you can go to Asia and get a custom suit made at a fraction of the cost and manufacturing time of what it might cost you in the western world?

Is it like that for gear as well? For example, can I go to Japan, buy a bunch of Navigator (ESP) guitars more inexpensively than in North America, and then bring them back to North America?

The value of the Yen has been increasing over the last couple of years... it would just be cheaper to find them online and have them sent here. lol Unless you're gonna be there and want to pick something up and bring it home, which you can do.

Really? Australia for sure, but i was in Japan for just over 3 weeks in 2014 and found everything to be insanely cheap.

Back then the exchange rate was close to 100yen/Canadian dollar. Now a Canadian dollar is 85yen. So everything will cost 15% more than the last time you were here.

during last year I bought 10 guitars from japan (through the middle man web site). I am not monitoring the prices on ebay anymore, ebay sux compating with yahoo.jp
