Gordie was flat out awesome both on and off the ice and polar opposites. He was such a nice gentle man off the ice. On the ice he'd be as dirty as you want to be...piss him off and you had better watch out. Although I don't like to compare eras today NHL player are school girls in comparison to Gordie. He demanded respect, if you broke it you took an elbow to head or a cross-check to the teeth. The man single handedly could take over games with skill finesse, produce offense, use brute force and if you want to fight, he'd kick your ass in the process.
Ah the Gordie Howe hat trick. They don't make them like that anymore. Sadly, it's what the game needs, but Bettman and the LameHL will never allow it to come back. RIP Gordie!
