  • Freaking Japan

Consider this your fucking hilarious, shake your head, laugh for the holiday weekend.

From the country that brought you BabyMetal................... they take it to a whole another level with this one, I give you:

LADYBEARD !!! (or LADYBABY, seen it both ways)

This is actually popular in Japan. The dude is actually from Australia and is some kind of crossdressing, death metal singing, pro wrestler(and yes, he wrestles dressed up just like this). Here's a video of theirs with over 16 million views. Prepare to laugh your ass off:

2015.7.29 ON SALES. LADYBABY Debut Single??????????????????????????2020??????????????LADYBABY?????????????????????An explosive high speed track that combines...

and how has the world made if this far without a Japanese Heavy Metal song about how to make Ramen Noodles ??? :

    2016.4.13 ON SALES. LADYBABY 3rd SingleDL/Streaming?https://linkco.re/UcFUyPgq?lang=ja????? Song Description???????????????????????????????????LADYBABY×?????...

And before someone asks, I found this last night while watching a YouTube video on Japanese culture and the crazy music scene over there. They had a small segment on Ladybeard. One bonus from the video, I found a cool Japanese band I had never heard of called Crossfaith. Crossfaith is basically Japan + Bullet for my Valentine + Slipnot + a little techno.

Since you had 183 views without someone commenting I watched the Ramen noodles video. All I can do is forewarn others that it's stupid, mind numbing, and not worth the view. Yeah the Japs have some seriously fucked up shit, and this just adds to it...

I will add the Crossfaith video is pretty cool, and while I'm not a huge fan of that type of metal, it's not total crap either. At least I can understand what they're saying (for the most part).

183 views and no comments. Welcome to the internet.

As for the experimental stuff coming out of Japan, everyone else takes Metal (and music in general) too seriously. They're having fun exploring new mashups, we're worried about keeping some sort of faith or ancient traditions like it's a religious belief. For a genre that has long distanced itself from organized religion, its practitioners cling to similar tenets with just as much zealotry, and pretty much the same results.

However, these fads are eventually going to fade away and be replaced by something new and shiny. I don't see BabyMetal doing it in their 20s, which for the main singer is just around the corner. The musicians will find gigs with the latest trend and the cycle repeats.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

That's just straight lightweight J-Pop without the metal, 100's and 100's of those "bands". I mean come on, those little chicks could never pull of the BRUTULLZZZZZZZ of LadyBeard.............

How about this lot? The music's pretty good, and supposedly they do actually play.
Probably be better if they ditched the costumes, but I guess that wouldn't be Japanese enough.... :dunno:

Here's an interesting Japan video. I've already shown you Crossfaith. Here's something you never see American bands do. 2 bands together making a song. This is Crossfaith with another band called SiM. SiM is a little more mainstream, like a heavy Blink 182. From best I can tell, the bands got together with Red Bull and did this song and video. The video itself is pretty cool, great production value:

The singer from Ratsbane is s big Sumo fan. You can sometimes catch him in costume on NHK during a basho.
