Also any guitarists from lesser know bands that you think deserve more attention or credit? If we all edited when people brought up names we forgot, can you imagine how long the lists would end up being?

I'm gonna have to check the ones I don't know out, I've been in a rut lately where all I've really been listening to is Conquering Dystopia and Tool. Not that that's a bad thing. If any of you haven't heard Conquering Dystopia, Jeff Loomis and Keith Merrow, should check them out for sure. The only reason I want a 7 string is to learn their songs.

Trey Azagthoth was the first name that came to mind.
That sick lick he plays during the solo of the Where The Slime Lives video dropped my jaw first time I saw it.

Those guys from Nile can blow your mind with the same expression on their faces as someone reading the newspaper. They do videos on youtube with no time keeping device and are tighter than all hell.

Of course, Lynch, E Lee, DeMartini, Rhoads.
                    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

What? No one has Guy Mann Dude on here?

Randy Rhoads, Steven Clark and Phil Collen, Zacky Mylde, that one guy who played that one solo in Ghost, you know the one. Dave Mustaine, James Hetfield, dudes from Judas Priest, Dave Davies, yeah, maybe Kinks aren't "Metal" but fuck it, they played as much a roll in creating metal and punk as sabbath did.

Basically I like most metal guitarists not named Jeff Watson.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Dude totally man Trey is a fucking machine the same goes for the Nile guys. Pat O'brien comes into mind when I think about quality Death Metal guitarists as he hs absolute control of both right and lefts hands.

I'm really digging the guitarist in Avatar, no idea their names, but I picked up the last two albums and they've been played non stop for weeks

Tim and Jonas from Avatar stopped by the Guitar World studio to play through their songs "Regret" & "House of Eternal Hunt." Check it out!
