This band is my friend/former roommate's band from the late 80's/early 90's. They're very similar to Lizzy Borden. (infamous female connection maybe?) This was the band that I first started teching with..
Poison : unskinny bop
Quiet Riot : Mama, we're all crazy now
Iron Maiden : Stranger in a strange land
Dio : Holy Diver
Ratt : Lay it down
Judas Priest : Breaking the law
and many many more. Right now as I type this.......
J.J. Johnson, The Eminent (that's an album name)
And other various bebop.. believe it or not, bebop is what I've been tuning into the most frequently for the last few weeks.

I believe it. I love bebop. My mum got me into jazz early. And bebop is like 1940s speed metal! Breakneck speeds, blazing solos & dudes that could seriously tear it up. Only thing, you're more likely to strain a finger than a neck, poppin' instead of bangin' at 228bpm

Opeth - Ghost Reveries. I still can't get into this album as much as Deliverance, though.

yea? I think GR is brilliant. Someone here called it their magnum opus, and I'm inclined to agree.
Had it on while I was doing some gardening the other week, and a mellower track was playing when my daughter says to me, "I finally get why you like these guys. Because they have cool mellow parts as well as all the heavier stuff." She doesn't like death vox at all, but she was enjoying the quieter passages, and was happy to deal with them until the next laid back bit came in.
