OK as far as Powermetal I strongly recommend Brainstorm , Gamma Ray , Iced Earth (The dark saga / Something wicked) , Symphorce , Sinergy , Morgana Lefay , Tad Marose , Pharoah , Kamelot , Eidolon!!!

For Melodic death / thrash ..Soilwork , The Haunted , The Forsaken , Darkane , In Flames , Kalmah , Arch Enemy , Throne of Chaos , Nightrage (w/Gus G , firewind) ....

For neo classical shred ...Space Oddessy , Majestic , Midnight Sun , The Armada , At Vance , Adagio , Time Requiem , Opus Alantica, Kenziner...

For something different like Progressive / Death ...Into Eternity's new one is great and Mercenary is cool too.

Right now I have Balance of Power's "Heathen Machine" on , Lance King left the band ...but I like this better than all their rest.

The best hard Rock / Metal band out their right now (AOR) style is Last Tribe Magnus Carlsson of Midnight Sun is amazing ....!
