Re: Wal-Mart pushing the limits of Globalization?

Guess it must suck being english and not having your "own" language, that only you can understand. Maybe you have to dig up some ancient dialect and start using it

I have to agree though, that I see no reason for showing debate programs in hindu in american supermarkets

English ... IS the official language of the USA.
Actually we *don't* have an official language. There's been controversy about this for many years (in particular loud cries of "racism" from the left whenever the idea of formally adopting English as our official language is proffered).

While English has not been given the US Dept of Education Regulation Seal Of Approval/Great Seal of the USA stamp, it's the "unofficial" official language, and that was decided waaaaaaaaay the hell back there when we started serious Colonization and such. Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, all those guys spoke English, wrote the Laws of this Nation in English, and established English (through "commonly held belief") as the official language of the USA, and it SHOULD be given the Official Stamp despite the camera-hungry protestors that love to hear their own voice on TV.

There is stuff like that all over. I just wish some level headed people would take over and stop adhering to every b#*@%^, moan, and complaint. We (USA) try so hard to adhere to everyone elses rights that we are taking away our own. That's what makes me so mad about the whole deal
