My brother was practicing guitar today...and you know, well I assume he was playing opeth because he puts the guitar pick in his mouth when he finger picks....well anyway, he had a freak accident and ended up swallowing adn choking on his guitar pick. It got lodged in where the esophagus meets the stomach, he had to go to the hospital and they removed it via endoscopy.

I'm guilty about chewing them when working on or adjusting stuff while playing. I've almost sucked one down before... That must have been a bummmmer.... Good warning...

Use jazz picks, they not only clear gastric obstructions, they also dissolve quicker.

hmm I have a habit of doing exactly the same thing (holding the pick in my lips when I finger pick)
