Dimmu borgir and classical listeners

Hey guys. For those of you Dimmu Borgir fans, refresh your memory with the intro to The Promised future aeons. Ive been addicted to that song for a long time just because of the kickass intro. :twisted: i was wondering if any of you know of any classical/symphonic music that has this kind of theme to it. Dimmu's "Fear and wonder" is kinda the same motif im talking about

Hey SSS, I cant think of any names right now, but you should look into the old Russian composers. They often had that dark sound you're looking for. I'll try and dig up a few specific examples for you if i can.

check out Modest Mussorgsky, Stravinsky, Dvorak, Beethoven, Brahms.

you should be able to find something "haunting" by those guys.

I was told by Silenoz that Dvorak is his main unfluence.

Oh thats cool. Ive just heard dvorak's 9th symphony and didnt like it a whole lot but ill check his stuff out more now
