This is one reason I like Kahlers; you get good attributes of Floyds and TOMs in the same guitar.

I hardly use 'em - don't even have the trem arms attached on most of them - but I still prefer a Floyd. I like how they feel under my picking hand. A Kahler, trad trem or tunomatic just don't feel right. I don't have a problem playing guitars with those bridges, but they don't feel as natural to me as a Floyd.

Bill, get those friggin' demos posted already. We all wanna hear them, and we're more interested in the songs and the performance than the production values. I bet they all kick arse anyway. So let's hear 'em!!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

(When I was 22-23, I thought that if I get 26 without children, I was getting old. When I was 29-30 I thought that I must be unmarried, without children, lose, and I'll remain young... now I'm 33, married, with 3 stepsisters that I love with my live because I'm raising them, then I thought I was getting old, BUT I GOT SOME GUITARS, AND ONE IS A CHARVEL, THAT WILL REMAINS ME YOUNG MAN!

I gave John the go ahead ..fuck it , it's a basement tape ...there is a lot of stuff that is just noised the fuck out and the levels are all over the place ..the guitars are so into the red they "shrill".

it was recorded on crap by a cool dude doing it for me while he was lying on my floor sleepin'...no shit. [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Funny to read this. All of my guitar life, i've hated floyds, and never really used them. Now I've found a new dedication to learn to use one effectivly and am excited to soon have a guitar with a very nice OFR.

If you push too hard while palm muting ...you'll wobble everything id you're not careful , especialy on the floating floyds..

[img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img] When I was younger, I always thought of being married at age 25... and I was, in 1998, actually two months before I turned 26. It was weird the way it turned out. A few years later, I got divorced, wound up getting back into playing more, acquired more gear and am not nearly as broke as I was with the ex-wife/succubus in my life! [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] I don't have a girlfriend and am currently not looking for one, not sure if I'll ever get married again, and I don't think I want kids at this point in my life either, but who knows what'll happen? well back in the day.. (pre 80-when there was no floyd or floyd available to limited few) all ya had was Fenders that sometimes kept in tune and Gibson TOM, or a Bigsby or Vibrola. So, I put some thought into this initially the first 5 years I started playing. Really, think about it.. it's a electric thing, because I have yet to see an acoustic with a whammy (altho they probably exist). Having started on acoustic and classical I think really influenced a preference for std tailpieces and Gibson.

Only when VH hit the scene, everyone started wanting a Fender that stayed in tune save for true hardcore lot of Hendrix and Blackmore fanatics keeping the Fender whammy alive like Uli Roth and their related spinoffs. Then Schon started using one. Floyds were big bucks and hard to get initially.

So basically Joe, you've reached postpartum Vanhendrixbomb..you're normal.
