hey you can download a program called "ad-aware"

it scans your computer for viruses and its a very small and simple program to use

Just to let you know, Ad-aware (a great program) only detects adware/spyware. Sadly, it does not do viruses, worms or trojans...

The creator of Norton Antivirus, Symantec, has some stuff on their site too.
