I can't think of any innuendo-laden power ballads offhand. Although that wasn't at all my thing back in the day anyhoo. The power ballad was a tune to pull birds with, so it was more touchy-feely and sensitive, more like your typical broken heart pop ballad. Y'know, heavy woollen pullovers sitting by a fireplace, walks along the beach on a rainy day, looking into the distance while I think of yooooooou. Don't want to offend the chicks with overtly suggestive lyrics or immature crassness.
That was reserved for the more straight-ahead rockers, like Warrant's Cherry Pie.Hail yesterday -
