  • Video input to my PC

Anyone know how I would go about taking analog video from my VCR and getting it onto my PC ?

I can get the audio by running the output of my VCR into my MP3 player/recorder then downloading from there to my PC, but it wont do the video. I though it might do the video as well if I converted the MP3 to AVI or WMV, but it doesnt seem to work.

You need a video card with video capture cabability. I use the ATI All-in-wonder in one computer, and the NEW TEK Video Toaster in another. The ATI is a cheapo system, and works well. The Toaster is the ultimate, but its quite expensive..........

hye I guess this question is along the same lines...

I have a sony digital 8mm video camera. I don'[t understand what's digital about it. It has the USB plug in thing...but I plug it into my computer and it really doesn't transfer anything i"ve ever recorded with it. What's the point of having the USB?

Dont know much about your camera, but the USB could be for flash drive or firewire usage.....Thats where manuals come in handy..........
