Re: Memorial Day ....Monday 31st

To all who have responded to this thread, thank you...for me, being in, it is kinda like you are insulated from the rest of society, in that, I don't really have much contact with people outside the gate, and most of my friends are also Marines....but I have made so many friends here on the JCF that I am truly thankfull for each and every one of you.

To all the past, present, and future service members.....thanks

I love this country with all that I am, I believe in it enough to say, truthfully, I'd die for it or one of my Marine brothers in a heartbeat (I know, it is hard to explain or understand).

This is an incredible country, with incredible people, from all walks of life.

Our freedom has had a very heavy price.

To my JCF brothers....have a great weekend, enjoy yourselves, enjoy your friends and family, and think for a moment how truly lucky we all are to live in this country called America, the home of the free

P-40 warhawk. That is a postcard worthy pic from the past Sully.

To those who fought and sacrificed for just causes, and even the ones that were just political BS...cheers.

Re: Memorial Day ....Monday 31st

Thanks a lot to all you guys in the military...both of my grandfathers served in WWII, one in the Navy (he was at Normandy on D-Day), and the other flying B52 bombers for the Air Force who sadly I never got the opportunity to meet, not to mention all the guys I grew up with who are in the Marines now, and all you guys here, thanks for everything you do...it is a noble thing even though the guys that instigate it all aren't usually so noble. You guys have my utmost respect.

To my Grandfather who served in WWI and WWII, my 4 uncles that served in WWII (two were killed, one injured), my grandfather-in-law that served in WWII, my uncle that served in Korea, and to my father and two cousins that served in Viet Nam. To my coworker that recently returned from service in Iraq. To past coworkers that served in Libya, Korea, Viet Nam, and many more places.

And finally to all of the kick ass Marines I had the honor to spend time with in Saudi Arabia towards the end of Desert Storm.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

Re: Memorial Day ....Monday 31st

Very appropriate thread. It's very humbling to think about the men and women serving around the world right now to protect our freedom and well-being. I really want to all of the service members, past and present, to know that I truly appreciate their sacrifices. Honoring their memory should be something we do every day of the year and not just May 31.

For all of the service men and women that have paid the ultimate price for our freedom I salute you. To all of my shipmates I served with I salute you and to all of you serving now I salute you. At the same time lets not forget our fellow service members who perished during peace time, training in case the call came for them to go to war.
I urge everyone to visit some of our war memorials. The tomb of the unknowns, the USS Arizona, the DDay memorial, the WW2 memorial, the Vietnam wall, the Korean war memorial. There are several others.
