Heh, excuse me if I'm the last person on earth to know of this...
I read of this site (hotornot.com) so I checked it out. The appeal is obvious, for people to send their photo in. You could say, well I just don't care... and we'd believe you... just like you don't masturbate either.
But not everyone sends their photo in obviously. For me it was predictability. I noticed as you whiz through the pictures it is not long at all before you can easily guess what range any one will end up in before you even rate them. And I know where I would fit in anyway ( a 10 of course ) so I wasn't motivated. What are you going to to learn? That the vast majority are average? Yawn big surprise. Sort of. Their aren't really that many above distinctly above average looking people. Maybe less than I thought if I look at the site. I'm thinking people who don't look all that special, hoping aginst hope that the results will tell them other than what they know anyway deep down are the most common posters. Hot people already know and only post if they have a certain vanity level or need. I don't think the overall demographic is necessarily all that representative somehow.
I think everyone knows where they fit in looks wise. No one uses sites like these to find out anything. So its denial, masochism or vanity I guess. Or is it that important to have an actual #, like 6.7? I care what people think of my looks of course, but whether its x.4 or x.7 or x.1 wasn't enough of a distiction from what I already know to motivate me to do it.
I'd ask if anyone has tried it, but I doubt anyone will admit it, unless they got a 9 or something
