Re: o.k., the GAME 7 winner is-

I've made my prediction...

Flames - 3
Bolts - 1

Done....

I'll give 2-1 Beers or as Tekky and I like, Capt'n with a splash! These are payable next month at NAMM or Winter, 05 as I said in another post...

I don't make game predictions but I'll predict that shall Calgary lose... there will be a major controversy over Saturday nights no goal!

The hereo will have to be someone other than Iginla or Richards tonight...

I only got to see the first period and from what I saw, Calgary didn't deserve it tonight.

I'll have to send a nice littel message to Mr Thorne and Mrs. Clemente!

pretty uneventful game 7, wasn't really exciting until it was 2-1 and the the last 10 minutes of the 3rd.

I had a game myself that night. They kept coming out and giving us updates. I only saw a bout ten minutes in the 3rd, right before the goal. The hit on St. Loius look a lillte cheap. The make up call was a good move IMO. Maybe this will get some more kids playing in the sunshine stae.

Gary Thorne has to be the worst play by play man in the history of sports. He can never get the players called right on the ice. I heard him call play by play with players that are not even on the team he is covering. Almost every game!

Well, we should all be thankful he is not an Air Traffic Controller.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This is why I think Tampa's winning of the cup is a good thing... If everything can be settled for next season to start on time, I'd say that the Lightning, and by default the Panthers, will see an insurgence of fans. With the Florida teams doing better, this in turn leaves the door open for other warm-weather teams to do better in the box office.

Re: o.k., the GAME 7 winner is-

Come on Shawn, they're totally lop-sided, it's all about fucking money now, it was never like that, it's the same with any sport and hockey happens to be my passion, always has been. In my life and all the games I've watched, I've NEVER seen them call an even game, it's always Hull this and Hull that, or Messier this, gretzky that, all these big money players this and that, it's just not the game man, think about it... You know I'm right.

If it were up to them last night, The Bolts already skated the cup 5 minutes into the game, and to have Richards as the MVP? The comment after the first goal about Richards put me through the roof man, I knew where it was going from there...

"Richards was in an "incredible" position, the guy's a defensemen, he was playing the point and tossed the puck at the night, like he's supposed to, but it he was in an incredible position, it's so whacked it's unreal. I'm really done with the NHL and those commentators.

The penalties at the end of the game were totally rediculous, never have I seen anything like that in my life, you don't call that shit in Game 7 of the Finals with 2 minutes left, it just doesn't happen and the shot on Louis was clean, if he would have taken a couple of strides or slammed his face in the boards, that's one thing, but it didn't happen, he took a half a stride and a clean check, St. Louis is just a little pussy and had his head down and got rocked!

Overall, the game sucked, it was like Calgary was still on Calgary time and didn't start playing till half way into the 3rd period, and it cost them, no doubt.

I'm really done with the NHL now man, seriously... I haven't really followed hockey for a year or two, since a few of my friends have retired, etc and I'm certainly not going patronize this commercialized bullshit any more. I was even contimplating getting season tickets next year for the Blues, no fuggin way now...

And for the record, it doesn't matter to me that the Bolts won, and they deserve their kudos and congrads and all that shit, but the way the NHL is now, is an embarassment to the game and it's fans, especially the older fans, over 25 or so I think.

That hit on St. Louis was a clean hit, no penalty and I'm done with the NHL and it's commentators, PERIOD! That was so lame, I can't swallow it.

As soon as they called the retalatory penalty, I turned it off and left, they ruined game 7 of The Stanley Cup Finals with the first one and to change the entire momentum of the game and perhaps it's outcome over a clean hit, what a joke, I'm 38 and have played hockey since I was 5, I know the game and this isn't the game I grew up with... These fuckin pussy's can't take a hit, if you're 170lbs and 5'6 or whatever, keep yer head up or stay out of the corners. The game has changed and it isn't pretty...

I'M DONE!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Listen I'm not a T.B. fan or a Flames fan, but if you try to kill a guy (clean hit or not)with a minute left in the game, and maybe take a penalty to take you team out of any chance of winning, than yer an idiot. Dont blame St. Louis, blame the dipshit that tried to take his head off, it was a stupid thing to do. It was done with malice, he scrapped his stick accross his face. It could have been much, much worse. What if he would have been paralized? would you say then? Ference took his own team out of it. There was only about twenty penalties that could have been called in the five minutes prior to that on Calgary. The Flames played the cheapest hockey I have ever seen. Its the only thing that kept them in any of the series they played. I was disgusting to hear the annoucers call this "guts". It doesnt take guts to play cheap, there is no courage in it. It will get worse, someone will lose something much more important than a game.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Are you fucking kidding me? Tried to kill him? He's skating behind the net with the puck, he took a half a step and hit him cleanly with a forearm or shoulder, what was he supposed to do, whisper in his ear or ask him for the puck? There was no stick in the face, it wasn't a brutal hit, it wasn't a slash, high stick, nothing a clean hit!!!!!!!!! He took a half a step for Christ's sake, if you can't handle that hit, get out of the game while yer still alive, I'm just using that hit as an example, I've never heard of St. Louis before this year's playoff's, it's just the way things are now, look at the hit on Karyia last year, he got rocked, but he's one of the golden boy's, you can't hit him, BULLSHIT! That's why everyone has an enforcer, it's the game. If these guys continue to fly down the ice or in the corners with their head's down, they will get leveled and possibly injured, even paralyzed, it's the game, you take that chance when you lace up the skates man, period!

Dude, I don't know how long you've been watching the game, but that hit, by all means wasn't a cheap shot, it's hockey, people get hurt, most of the time, it's clean hockey that puts a guy out. Let's see one of these St. Louis's or anyone take a hit from Gassoff, or Plager, these guys couldn't play with guys from old... No way!

I'm thinkin yer like 15 or so, am I correct? And truct me, it's nothing personal, just lack of knowledge and experience...

I don't think Thorne is as biased as most local broadcasting teams are.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">But, the home announcers are expected to be biased, they're broadcasting in a local network for the home team, I agree with that. I don't agree that a national broadcast should be allowed to be biased, on air of course and this comes within reason, they can annoucen the flow of the game and comment accordingly, but when they start skating the cup with Tampa 5 minutes in, that's way over board and that's the way I see those 2 commentators call the games throughout the year, if Tampa's playing Detroit, geez, who the hell are the Bolts? those 2 fucks don't know, unless they scored a goal or gave up the puck to Hullie... they just don't belong there.

Brad Richards deserved the Conn Smyth, you take him off TB they are out in the 2nd round.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I really can't comment I guess, I haven't followed the Bolts through the post season, he didn't impress me from the games I did see tho. Habby should have had that one IMO, the dude stood on his head through out...

Alot of the pros come from where I live or have gone to college here(duluth, MN). I too have played many pick up games with alot of these guys, had a few of em on stage trying to sing (dont let Hull sing).

You must have been pretty young to have skated with the Plager's or they were retired.

Your in St. Louis so you know about POP's. I played there one night, Twister kept buying us shots, he got pretty fucked up and almost missed his flight.
