New Lenny Kravitz CD

I just bought the new one from Lenny called Baptism. No surprises at all. Top notch songwriting, and musicianship. On many tracks, Lenny is credited for playing all the instruments himself, and does so brilliantly as usual. I'm sure pretty much everyone has already heard the first single "Where are we Running". I'm guessing that the neck release will me "Minister of Rock & Roll". It's a truly awesome song.

I like the new song "where are we running" alot. I've never been a big fan of his past stuff but the new song is more rockin'. He's a great guitarist.

Does he play the leads too? I remember a few years back his lead guitar player was this dude with a big afro, and he was really good. I remember him playing one of those teles with the HB in the neck position, and got a real cool tone from it. I enjoy Lenny's "rock" songs alot, but some of his other stuff is nt my cup of tea. "where are we running" is definitely a cool song-it has a great hook that forces you to sing along in the car, which as we all know is the number one indicator of a classic song. Plus, Lenny is just a cool, badass mofo.

Craig Ross plays lead guitar on a lot of Lenny recordings, and I believe is also a permanent member of his live band. The solo in "Are You Gonna Go My Way" is Craig Ross. However, Lenny also plays many leads himself. He also plays drums, bass, synth, piano, etc, and will frequently do so on his recordings.
