Group shot: Including my Charvel Model A which is undergoing repairs. It's got an OFR which I took off to try on the Wolfgang... Didn't like it. Four space SKB rack: Furman power conditioner, Mesa Boogie Triaxis, Mesa 20/20 Stereo power amp, TC Electronic G-Major. All rack units wired with George L's cable. Mesa 2x12 Recto Cab (Vintage 30's), Mesa 1x12 3/4 back (Black Shadow), Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier Solo 50 Head.

Beautiful family! You've downtuned the Model A pretty much, haven't you? Drop-G octave?

Nice gear - i gotta check one of those Mesa 2x12 Recto Cabs out.

      nice Steve'o

how do you like the epi LP? I heard some are great and some are ass....

I really like the 3 pick-up black beauty LPC but not enough to fork over a couple grand for one I'd think an epi would be a cheap alternative since I never owned a Les Paul before I'm not sure if I'd like it or not,

        Re: My Gear

The Elite Epis are much, much better than the standard ones. One might liken them to the early 90's pro series Jacksons. Sure they're import versions of the Gibsons, but the quality is right up there.

How do you like the triaxis paired up with the 20/20?That's the direction I'm headed. How does that sound compaired to the recto?

            Re: My Gear

It sounds great! I got the Triaxis for the lead sounds, because the Recto doesn't do that too well (I wanted a singing lead sound), and it's amazing versatility. I was initially going to get a 2:50, but the store didn't have one in stock. They guy let me take the 20/20 home to see if I liked it and if I didn't, they would exchange it for the the 2:50... It never went back. It has plenty of power to play with a loud drummer, and when cranked has a sweet, harmonically rich sound. Turning the presence knob really adds some aggression to the tone. I can cover any style of music with this set up... Country, Blues, Rock, Metal, you name it. I think a stereo 4x12 or another 2x12 would add alot more oommph, but I don't like lugging all that crap back and forth to practice.

I put the Recto up for sale a while back because the rack set up was so good, and fortunately it didn't sell. It has a great, ballsy, modern rhythm tone that I love. I think that if you're gonna primarily be a rhythm player, that amp is just the ticket. I do have to say though that the Recto patch in the Triaxis sounds great too...

I wanted the intonation professionally set with one of those strobe tuners. I think that's what they call it?

Thanx Khabibissell, I have a 20/20 now paired with a MP1 through a 2x12 G-benz it has great tone but since I fooled around with a triaxis at G center I really would like one all I need now is the money

No prob. They are expensive, no doubt, but well worth it. They can even make a crappy a guitar player like myself sound good. I should've mentioned that it sounds killer through the Rectos effects loop in as well.
