from what I read on the description. Unitarian Universalwhatsit is basically the "whatever" religion. IE: you don't give a shit..and anything will work.
at least...when applied to me, that's what it is.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The Universial Life Church was established in (I think Fresno Ca.) by a kook named Kirby Hemsley. This was back in the '60's when a religious deferment could get you out of the draft. Anyone could become a minister; have a few people over for beer and pretzels and declare the group a "Church". There were tax ramifications as well. I went to a rally at the State U where Kirby himself spoke . I was going to a JC at the time. He stated that anyone who wanted to become a minister could "COME ON DOWN!!!!" and get a certificate. So I did. The state of California spent years trying to have the ULC declared a sham.I don't know where that stands. Nor do I care. All I know is about 15 years ago a salesman walked out of his ofiice at work and asked if anyone knew someone who could marry a couple real quick. I joked,"I'm a minister in the ULC." He asked could I marry people. We checked with the City of San Francisco, the County of San Francisco, the state of Calif. and the ULC. By "Somebody" on high, I could marry 'em but I couldn't bury 'em. If the group you are referring to is the same ULC, then they have gone off on a weirder tangent then we JFCers do.
Me, at the ULC feel there is only one "TRUE RELIGION".... YOURS!! ( and yours, and yours, and yours, and up-yours, and yours, Oh, did I forget yours, and yours............................................. ...................)
no, its a different one then. i was talking about the "universelles leben" which is universal life translated to german. im no expert but afaik the sect was found about 70 years ago or so by someone (that gabriele wittek ***** ) who says she spoke to an alien called "mairadi" which told her that she and her followers will be saved at the time of the worlds downfall.....i simply dont get it cuz they believe shit like this AND believe in god at the same time.....and then the whole "the devil is sitting in the corners" bullshit....the only halfway decent thing they are saying is their slogan: "god? yes! church? no!" and thats my opinion, too. i think you can believe in anything you want, but whatever you believe in, you definetely dont need a church.
