    Re: SAN FRANCISCO!

I used to live in SF. Anyone ever see that crazy black guy that played the bass plugged into a bass amp on his back while he was roller skating around the city?

I was hanging around Dolores park with my acoustic and he spent about 30 minutes showing me some stuff on the guitar. So I tipped him $20 and arranged another lesson but I never saw him again.

Funny thing was this guy was the best teacher I ever worked with. If it didn't groove, it was shit, and he made damn sure that you could make what he taught you groove right.

If a town has a gene they have that triggers a fanatic reaction...

it tends to make me a little squeemish...

I know "frisco" sounded cool back when Karl Malden was in charge there.. I guess he might have retired by now.

I lived in Key West for 15 years, which a lot of people consider the Gay capitol of America, and never had a latte spilled on me once. But I was more careful back in those days.

                    Re: SAN FRANCISCO!

If they don't like it tell them that they can spoon you. I'm here at the convetion now, I think we may have been through the moscone. We're at a convention center now, right next door is a Sony Playstation place.

I was *attacked* on 6th and Mission, I was just walking around, I heard there is a Guitar Center on 9th and Mission, well I was on my way, and on the corner of 6th, is this porno shop, okay, no problem.

This drunk guy, probably crazy is there, and he gets close to me, grabs my pocket and my arm, and then he gets in close like he's going to kiss me, I shoved the bastard back and got around the block away from him, and said, fuck it, guitar center can wait until another day.

Santana was or is playing over a few nights here, *i know you may or may not like him, personally I don't* but it was kind of neat to see that.

We're getting ready with this thing where John Kerry is going to come out and talk to us. There is a random drawing out of our group who gets to meet him. we also met the Democratic speaker of the house.

Some pretty interesting stuff going on here.

I've ate at a sports bar on 4th and Mission, R&G, Empress of China, a few Chinese places I don't remember the name of. Lefty O'douls, Lori's Diner, a few places in the wharf, quite a few places in total actually.

I drank at about a bagillion places as well, can't complain at all really.

I go back home tomorrow (yay!) sO I'll be able to play guitar and such. Anyway, I'll have to be going now, we have to go and get checked by the secret service and such.

We have receptions going on tonight BUT, I'll be back at my hotel at some point, IF anyone in this area is interested in having a beer tonight I'm in.

The Grand Hyatt on STOCKTON Street. My room is 2405. Just call me up and let me know.

I won't have access to the computer again, so I can't PM anyone :*

Don't worry I know I'm here on a political venture, but I want to talk some music! No one I'm with has spoken about music, just about politics, and I get sick of hearing what I already know.

                      Re: SAN FRANCISCO!

Yes. Good ol' Sixth and Mission. Consider yourself lucky you have no extra holes in you.

That's about the one corner in the city you don't want to be at.

Don't worry about missing the SF Guitar Center. It really, really sucks. Unless you really want to see where it all started since it is store #1.

There's a much better Guitar Center out in Concord, which you can get to by BART. They often have a good selection of used Jacksons.
