• Good Mp3 Players?

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for an Mp3 player, and maybe you can help me with some suggestions that may point me in the direction to what I'm looking for. First off, I'm in the $100-$150 range. I'd like something that isn't too small so I can't lose it, and easy to use. I'd like something that is compatable with most all formats of sound compression (Mp3, WAV, ect.), and last but not least, something that can hold alot of songs (who wouldnt want that? hehe). Thanks for the help!

I just got a Neruos 20gig mp3 player and am very happy with it. I scored the usb 1.0 off of ebay for just over $150.00 new. It hold about 5000 songs, has an FM transmitter so you can broadcast your songs to a your car radio, and is very easy to use. You can check them out here http://www.neurosaudio.com/ but price them on eBay they can be had for $150-$190 new.

I've read some good reviews on the new one from Dell. Not as good as the iPod, but closer to your price range.

Re: Good Mp3 Players?

I'm using a RioVolt CD/MP3 player as well. I prefer that. I can still play regular CDs on it, which is great, but I will always try to stuff as many MP3 files onto a CD-RW as I can. I prefer this solution because I can use regular AA batteries, so I use rechargeable alkalines. Pays for itself down the road!

If you wear an iPod's battery out, you have to pay to get it replaced. They will open it up and change the battery, and send you a rehashed one. But I guess it all depends on how often you use it anyways.

So I still prefer my CD/MP3 player because I can listen to it while I'm charging up some other batteries, rather than the iPod which I think cannot be listened to while you're charging it up. Big drawback for me.

You can charge the Neuros while listening to it. It comes with the ac adaptor, a car carger, headphone and the usb cable. The only knock I have on it vs the ipod is size. The Ipod is smaller but I am a big guy and slipping the Neuros in my pocket isnt a problem.

I bought an IRock from circit city for like $60 and it's actually pretty good, I put in a cheap 128 meg card to go with the 64 megs it has stock and have been pleased with it, All I do is work out with it so it's not that important to me to have a Bling Bling one.

I have one of the Sony Net-MD minidisc players & it's pretty cool. I really like the idea of just buying another $1 minidisc to add music to the collection while still having a very small & light player to carry around. The only real downside is that the format isn't .mp3 (though you can move .mp3 files from your PC to the minidisc) so your PC has to change your CD/mp3 files to Sony's format before moving them to the player.

Re: Good Mp3 Players?

I own Waitec Funky for two years now. It's an old model, but it's CD/mp3 player, that reads mp3's from the CD. I think this is cheaper since you can have plenty of mp3 CD's and the only thing to do is to get mp3's, buy CD and recharge the batteries.

This is really handy when you go to vacation and have tons of good mp3 music you want to take with you. This is the perfect solution for such occasions, but if you have an album or two that kick ass for a week or two for your personal preference and you listen to that at work or in free time while taking a tan in the backyard, a classic mp3 portable player is the best.
