              Thanks Em and that's great that you get to have your parents at your house for Thanksgiving.

              Now to top off the great day I've been having, I just had London Broil and Mashed Potatos and then I will sit down with a few cold ones and watch the race. Oh and my 13 year old step-daughter asked me to teach her to play guitar.
              Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

                      Keith has a project today, he wants to re-stain the deacon's bench.
                      I've already sanded it for him, so we're off to the Home Pot to get the stain he wants.

                        A Deacons Bench...Did that!!

                        In my upper foyer...got it from a old church they demolished ..that and an old gothic styled hanging light fixture in my bathroom..

                        I have NOTHING but "Gothic: era furniture in my home..except for appliances of course everthing els is at least 100-200 years old...

                        I must post pics some day!!!!!

                          gothic era was 'bout 600-500 years ago, and some of the old furniture is hard to tell wich exactly it is, gothic, roccoco or baroque [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

                            OK E..your are exactly right..I am generalizing...lets just say "antique"..very ornate and hand carved , clawfoot and face carvings and whatnot..I love that stuff..

                            My oldest peice is prolly about 300 years old..it is truly gothic in style..I mean it has all the gothic flavor ..pointed arches , rosettes , very ormate..I have three candle / book stands that I cherish..They rule!

                            Most of the furniture that I use in turn of the century , legged tables..claw foot furniture which wasn't liked by the early 30 because it looked too "menacing" looking ..so they softened it up a bit and rolled off into a ball withou the claws..french provential..I have that as my couches and chairs..and two replicas of two fainting couches..one I just ordered for my wife because the back was on the wrong side to watch TV...so I ordered another one for her..and will take hers for my music room..

                            My house was a gutted old brick Tudor Double that I converted into a large single..with drak walnut Waincoating and libray paneling throught and a great room that is 27 feet high with a bunch of Gargoyles of course..and a Gothic Arched balcony over looking the great room , and thru the second story arched window is another cast iron 3 foot tall Gargoyle on my widows walk as well that birds perch on..and my house is half covered with Boston Ivy and have spires on it..I love my home..it's the coolest home I ever been in.

                            I've' seen nicer and elaborate holmes on TV but not in my area.
