Here's one that gets me. The Bible is written in "one" voice, as if one man had written it in a singular style, yet it was written over a period of thousands of years by many different people. The cathlic church (I'm not catholic) has the original manuscripts so interpretation is not the answer here...it is factual that it was originally written in this manner. Any scientist of worth who has studied this admits that it is a mathematical impossibility for this to occur, even if they are atheists, etc.
No other religion has a base such as this that they are founded upon...in fact many use out of context sections of the bible to promote their ideals.
I don't have any answers here, this is just something that intrigues me and makes me think from time to time.

Men of relgion are VERY SMART, they know that it is bullshit and they know that people are stupid, so they use it to have more power etc. They change some things in religion by their own needs, so eventually there are many different religions from one original religion. Christianity and Islam have exactly the same roots, some dudes just changed some things to make people obey to them like they would want it. Same thing with Buddism and Zen-Buddism, Daoism, Legeitism etc. It is all hilarious bullshit.

my take on this:
i do believe in god. however, i do NOT think that any form of organized (mass) religion is useful or "good" for that matter. to me, faith is a very personal thing, and everyone percieves it as different. due to this, having a dogmatic system with a strict structure and rules can't work for everyone, and often causes more harm than anything else.

and bill...another point: disclaimer: i don't want to critizise or judge you and your faith, this is just one thing that not logical to me.

if you say there is no god, ihmo you also deny the existance of satan, as to me it's impossible to believe only in satan but not in god. that's like saying something is false, but at the same time denying that there's anything that's true. maybe (or surely [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] ) you don't worship god, but i'm quite sure that even you believe that there is a god.

I believe in me....I believe that the belief in God is just a crutch for those who don't have enough faith in themselves to get through the hard times, they need to feel there is a higher power there to guide them through.

Some people personify a belief in a power or energy of good and evil, and then harnass that power themselves. It can be helpful for some to visualize energy coming from a persona, though I don't really understand that kind of thinking. If it works for you, so be it.

But then some people put their faith in a God/Gods and expect that power they believe in to take care of all their problems. Ummm... no. I believe that is what you are referring to, and to me that is a huge cop-out.
I get so sick of hearing about the problems of my neighbors and they tell me "Well, we are in God's hands and He knows what is best". FUCK THAT.

I do not believe in a God or a Devil, neither do I personify energy. But I do believe in positive and negative energies and use them and recognize where they come from.

I like it when I feel good. I thing Stevie would have even more improved and made more great music. But Bob didn't want it, Bob doesn't like when I feel good. That's not nice, but Bob really doesn't bother me because Stevie's "Riviera Paradise" is just SO GOOD that I can't be mad at Bob, hey Bob let's be friends [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

There are 200o interpretations of a "God" but only one Satan..Satan always remains consistant..even though all other Gods do NOT!!

Funny don't ya think..why..Because Satan is a necessary evil..he is the blame full all of man's faults..he is a scapegoat for man's weakeness , shortcomings , disease , wars , tragedies and tempations..he like God is a crutch for the weak who can't take their own actions into their hands without the hope of some "higher power" assisting them..

To a Satanist ..Satan personifies all that is man and we take what comes "natural" to man and celeberate it ..we celebrate life and don't belive in an afterlife. All our rewards are right here.. Look at them..everything the church devised as a sin..those are our rewards in this life..Lust , Gluttony , Pride , Anger etc..these things are what man is and should be celebrated without manufactured guilt of ANY religion....Hate is a inspiring and beautiful emotion , just as Love..you can't have one without the other..and they both make you feel alive!! Good point. The sucky part being that even those who do not believe in the same god, or any god, still fight even if they don't agree with the whole situation.
