Em, I was in a similiar scenario and kinda still am, but for the most part the worst has been resolved.

Your right, its not the animial/s fault they're just doing what the owners are letting them do. The owner/s are show neligence as responsible pet owners, they can be fined/reprimanded.

I'm a home owner in a nice neighborhood, the house beside us is a rental. A rental in a nice neighborhood is always a very bad scenario waiting to happen. Usually, the landlord could careless who rents from him or her, because its about money. It least in my sitaution anyways.

Em, get your neighbors involved.
Let them know about how your new neighbors are poor pet owners and how the animials have destroyes your property as well. Doing this will work to not only your advantage but to the whole neighborhood.

Two houses away a police officer and his famaliy lives and I got in touch with him and explained how my neighbor was doing and told me what I needed to do. He pointed me in the direction I needed and I did the rest.

1. Make your other neighbors aware of your new neighbors behavior and lack of responsible pet ownership.
2. File complaint with humane society.
3. If the humane society proves fruitless, file/call police department every single time the dogs get out. There are city ordinances that pet owners must adhere to. You will start getting attention this way for sure.
4. If they saftey of children and other neighbor's property is at play, call the local number (phonebook) listed that deals with this.

Number 4, was the bigger gun and calling the police was what did it for me in getting my scenario resloved.
My nieghborhood is full of little kids and the potential concern of other owners property that were at risk.
Also, the mailman couldn't deliever mail and he verified the animails running freely in the neighborhood and how it limited him delievery the mail in our area. Yes, he maced them many times.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

Oh man is that ever funny! I live in a freakin' Mexican ghetto, man. That kinda thinking won't fly out here... WOOSH!
A boot up the ass is much more effective, instantly understood and the results are immediate.
The problem has been addressed and solved, I explained things to them very clearly this afternoon. This is what you have to do with dimwits.
I still despise them, however.

BUMMER:

Bills son Vinnie snapped both bones in his forearm in half and sorta compounded them together in length at wrestling practice last night.

Bill's been at the hospital the last day and a half with him and he's on morphine (the kid not Bill, haha) and is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morn to put him back together with some plastic? rods from the elbow to wrist.

I'll keep yas posted as he tells me about it.

So much for wrestling...

Isn't everybody in Texas armed, Em? Tell 'em you love to make dog soup, the next time the dogs come on the property, click click BANG

Just kiddin'

I have a similar problem: I have a ghetto neighbor who has not one but TWO rabbits she lets run free to come over and eat my lawn and probably poop on it. Couple weekends ago I started chucking tennis balls at the rabbit. Lady comes over
"Hey that's mine"
Me: "Oh yeah? I hear they are delicious, is that true?"
She (walks away without rabbit)
Me: "When I see your rabbits here again, maybe I'll find out!"

Actually I went to the city and looked up the regs, turns out rabbits are prohibido in my ciudad HA HA!

I haven't seen the rabbits lately, now to get rid of their damned loud birds.

I am in NEIGHBOR HELL.
New neighbors.
FIVE FUCKING DOGS!!!!!!!!
Two of them (black and chocolate lab) busted through the fence at midnight last night. We had to wake our bastard neighbors who JUST moved in yesterday to come claim their breeds who were CHEWING up our patio furniture!
They put them in the garage.
What do they do first thing this morning when their people let them out? Bust through the fence AGAIN!!!
FUCK!!!!!!!

I think these guys are leasing, I called the property management. It's animal control next. Or knives. I haven't decided. I'm so mad. Very very mad.

Knives with dogs that big aren't very practical. A .410 shotgun or a .38 loaded with snake shot, now that might do the trick...

Aw MAN! That sucks bad, John! Give Bill, Val and of course Vin my best if you see or speak to 'em before Bill returns here. This may put the kibosh on wrestling, but Vin
will find a channel for that energy - maybe into his drumming. Anyway, my thoughts and prayers go out for the Zurlos!

The knives wouldn't be for the dogs. Heh. I wouldn't hurt an animal unless it was attacking someone.
I just got back from their house AGAIN... they are young kids right out of college who have decided they want to live in a "grown-up" neighborhood. Things are a bit different over here, it aint college town.
I HOPE they are cool now. It helps that they speak english and are educated, that part is nice.

Wow!! The news about Vinny! That SUCKS SO BAD!
John, will you please let the Zurlos know we're thinking of them? I sure hope Vinny makes a speedy recovery and isn't in too much pain. He's doped up, so maybe he's feeling pretty damn good now. I hope the surgery goes well... man... I'm really feeling for him.
Good thing wrestling season is almost over, I hope that he will be able to continue next season.

Ron-- That rabbit story cracked me up!!
Why can't YOU be our neighbor instead?
Rabbit stew, my Mama knows how to make that. If you need the recipe just holla.

Reconstructive surgery was scheduled at 7am today. If I hear anything, I'll put it up.
