REally Emmy...I maxed out on my PM..I have to clean it up then..

I check my email..just to see what's up with my metal shipment..I barelu yse my Email..I only go to a few places when I'm on line..this being one..

Oh, as far as your info..I just did a bsic google search and discovered that sight..very interesting stuff that somewhat parallels..some "ritualistic" thing we do...

I had a great talk with Val..we talkled for hours..about life in general..sometimes you have to bring people down to earth with simple logic..when you see them stressing out over trivial stuff like work, and etc..

it's easy to observe a problem when you are outside their emotional circle..

when you are emotional or stressing over something..you can easily get "clouded" in judgement..

Hey, I've been guilty out that...what human hasn't..it takes a good friend or family to talk with them at that time...

My dad still does that with me..and I'm greatful to have him at those times..sometimes I vent right here and get a different perpective that makes sense..sometimes just simple words can snap you back to reality..even if the reality blows! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

listening to some barlow era iced earth right now....man, i'm quite saddened by the fact that he's no longer into the music thing. his voice is and was awesome, one of the few singers that manage to send shivers down my spine.... the chorus to jack is one of the most intense vocal lines ever imho, total awesomeness.
i don't mean to talk shit about ripper, either, but barlow left him with some seriously large shoes to fill in.....and he's just no match. not because he sucks, rather because barlow ruled [img]/images/graemlins/notworthy.gif[/img]

I just ordered my first Iced Earth album, Horror- something. It should be here in a day or two and I have no idea what to expect, other than what I have heard from guys in this thread. So this Barlow dude can sing, can he?

well, in the end it's all a matter of taste. in my opinion, he surely CAN sing [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

horrow show...it's an OK album. the thing about iced earth is that they don't really have a lot of variety, and they didn't change over all these years, in contrast to a lot of other bands, in flames or of course metallica come to mind [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
my personal favorites are something wicked this way comes (kickass guitar sounds [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] ), night of the stormrider (likely their best songs, but not as good production wise imho), and of course their 3 CD live album alive in athens...that one RULES. awesome guitar tone, awesome singing, and despite of all the studio trickery (most live records are more like studio recordings with some crowd noise in between anyways [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] ) there's still a good live feel. if i were to pick only one, it would be alive in athens no doubt, it's highly recommended.

ah yeah, as for what to expect....something along the lines of power/epic metal, good mix of slow balladesque songs and thrashy tunes (depending on the album), as i said good vox, kickass guitar tones, and wicked rhythm playing from john schaffer - that guy is a monster...and an arrogant a$$hole [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Dracula has got to be one of the most powerful vocal performances of all time. I also like the song A Question of Heaven from the Dark Saga CD.

and NOW i'm listening to the forsaken....another death metal band from sweden, once again HIGHLY recommmended. they're similar to iced earth in the sense that they don't offer a lot of variety, sort of a one trick pony, but it's one hell of a trick. they lead guitar players shreds, almost yngwie-esque at times. Benatar was incredible great music and voice.
I cranked her up was years ago when cruising the mall parking lot was the thing. Some would say, "your listening to Pat Beneatar?" Like it was a bad thing. My response was, "what you fag you listen to Boy George, besides I think its well written music." In retrospect, I never fit in cause I wasn't trying too.

80's music is the best.

Jimmyh Horroe show is the last wuth Barlo..you should opick up soimething wicked this way comes next..then dark saga..then..burt offering..then stormhumper..or whatever...that's going backwards to their first..which isn't that great with theor original singer..not Barlow!

Pat Benetar SMOKES..she had a powerful voice..she could fron a band like sinergy anyday of the week..especially back in her prime!!

I went to summer chool with her boyfreind now hubby Neil Geraldo..we smoked weed and drew guiatrs duting English lit..he talked about Steve Morse..and I talked about Eddie Van Halen..I had NO clue that Neil was that kick ass..the next year Pat Benater exploded..I couldn't believe it was that same dude!!
