It strikes me as odd because you laid out a pretty good sum to see a band you like..it seems funny to spend all your time knocking heads with the kids you see at school everyday rather than watch the band you paid to see."
i don't like it either...if i go to gigs it's either because of the music/the musicians (dream theater comes to mind...), the beer/party, or the girls. if i wanted to beat up some people i'd much rather fight a rapper or similar scum than a fellow metal head
as for the bands, well, very often they encourage it because it looks fucking cool if you're on stage

      • it depends of the music, i've been like a wild motherfucker on the concerts, not so much anymore tho.

When it's blues or rock I just tap my leg along.

When it's jazz, funk, pop or whatever, I just lake to shake my ass and dance

When it's punk, hardcore the it's time to fucking jump like a lunatic later you have to go to the hospital tho.

I've beaten the shit out of some metalheads on the metal shows tho because of their idiotic behaviour. I've beat the shit out of junkies. Also those black metal dudes are pain in the ass with their spikes, fucking assholes, one of them almost made me blind with that shit. I fucking breaked his arm. I'm fine with moshing and shit if the music is brutal and doesn't have much musical value, but the spikes and shit has to go.

My borhter's team mate in the handball team is working as a security guard sometimes. There was this big electronical music festival coming, and you all know how the people are there, loaded with heavy drugs. So my bro's team mate wanted to go to that festival because of those people.
He beat the shit out of about 70 people in one night who were on heavy drugs. Leg right in the face. Also he cought 4 drug dealers.
After he beated them all almost to death, he called cops for them.
It must be nice to be a security guard

So you are basically saying you encourage it as long as you don't have to be subjected to it.:ROTF:

yep, i guess that's what i was trying to say

when attending concerts i'm trying to remember all kinds of shit, like amp settings, how the guitar player plays certain parts, you know, geeky musician stuff . being on stage on the other hand is much more high energy, i guess if i felt like this when seeing other bands i'd also be in the pit kicking other people

              • Yes ..I find it very "amusing" to watch the Mosh pits from afar...I'm like a lil' Nero up on the balcony watching the slaughter..

But I've learned that at ANY Death or Thrash show..such as the Exodus show the wife wants to go to...You WILL get caught in the mosh if your are anywhere within' 25" of the stage..

The venue that Exodus is playing at is a hole in the wall..and the wife and I are not the "tallest" peole out there..so with that said..we would miss Exodus even if we were there..

So, I'm taking the wife to see Uli Roth, her favorite guitarist in the world..I figure there would be NO moshing at Uli..but some fat little' drunken puke will try..like always..then I must inform that puke that this is a mosh free show and that will bum him out and he will leave...yes that's happened before...once at King Diamond..:ROTF:

                No more Carccass!!!

I listened to Carcass for a month straight..NOOOOOOOOooooooooooo

                • I saw John Scofield a couple of years ago. Now there were a lot of people who went to see him as he is one of the most legendary jazz guitarists (played with Miles etc.)
There were a lot of old folks, a lot of musicians and also many many younger folks.

John was like, what the heck are you sitting here, c'mon dance and go crazy, you are gonna live once anyway.
What a cool guy, his full band consists of VERY young dudes, and John is totally into the younger generation music.
He basically has made fun of all the jazz critics because they don't want that jazz players progress and mix their music with new stuff.
John McLauglin shares his opinion too.

Your lord Bill Z Bub..will be signing off to get a early start on tonights festivities..

plus I gotta shave and take a shower and go to the bank..my mommy works there..and maybe I'll find a nice new, young bank teller, a future ex wife for John..

not really, I'm actually sucha sweetie pie
I'm not violent at all, I was when I was younger probably because of the guys I was haning out with, the most brutal fighters in the whole country, most of them are probably in jail right now.
I can't fight at all anymore, I would probably get my ass kicked
But the local metalheads are pussies here, a girl would kick their ass. Unlike biker dudes, they don't stand up for each-other.

                            • the problem these days my good Endrik is that you cannot count on getting into a good clean decent fight anymore out here, someone's gonna pull a piece, and it becomes a sick situation. I remember in the old days, when I saw a fight developing, I would always grab one of those great glass ashtrays off the bar and have it ready behind my back if the fight was moving my way. I'm not huge, but I am crafty, and definitely not scared.
                              He who fights fairly, loses.

                              • I've always fought fairly, 90% of my fights have ended with a tie. One gives a couple punches, then the other one gives a couple of punches and then it's like ahh fuck it, let's give it a rest and it's over.
                                I guess it's a different place here.
