My Greek cousins in New York do that; I think in New York in my uncles' and aunts' youth they decided it was best to pas as Italian if you could, so they all learned Italian rather than Greek cooking. Maybe because GrandmaManiotis was Irish and they were raised Catholic? Well, the Romans imitated the Greeks, so turnabout is fair play! Anyway, my mom made the meanest lasagna I ever had, and I've had a lot of lasagna from authentic sources. Hell, those fukkers built a world empire on that food!
