Thanks, Em! I really appreciate that, and right back atcha, of course!
Congratulations on finishing the record, I know that takes a lot of work and patience, and I know it'll be great, having heard the songs online!
Endrik has a point, if you get label interest they will either put a band of seasoned players together, or that label interest allows you to audition your own players if you want a more organic, "your", handpicked band.
But in the long run, whether you land a major label deal is not as important as creating the music itself is. There are so many talented musicians who don't hit the big time, but making the music is its own reward. You're playing to a tough room here at the JCF; we love each other, but we are critical too. If you impress this bunch I think it's fair to say you have the chops, dontcha think?
Anyhoo, best of luck with the release, and let me know when I can order a copy!
So how was everyone's week? Mine was pretty damn good. On Tuesday I saw Kreator and they played a DREAM set, then on Wednesday I saw Opeth and Dark Tranquility. I actually got to talk with the guys from Dark Tranquility briefly so that was cool, nice guys.
Rattle How ya doin' man..My dickhole drummers new band opened for Dark Tranquility..I love DT but I didn't go..I don't do too mant shows lately..unless it's someone I MUST see..like Nevermore..they usually get me out of the house..
Wjhat's with Ozzfest..I thought it finally became a "metal" show..what the fuck happened..MTV did it again huh??
WTF...there's a few bands on the bill I'd like to see..but nothing I MUST see...fuck that!
Cool, that gives me a great reason not to go..last time I was there..I ran into some fat painted Titty girl..she found it much more amusing than I did...some girls should not take of their tops..ya know..seriously man..WTF is that?? "Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.
Yeah, it's kinda lame, but I am looking forward to seeing Disturbed. I actually like them. I also won't mind seeing BLS again. Lacuna coil are actually not bad either if you like female singers.

And what is THAT supposed to mean, huh?

Yikes, don't want to piss you off.
I just mean that a female singer with heavy music doesn't do it for some people. I personally like it a lot. I like Lacuna coil, and I will even admit that I like Evanescence. I'm a huge fan of Tori Amos, Kate Bush, and Sarah McLachlan, and to me Evanescence and Lacuna Coil are similar, but heavy. Cool stuff!!

I'm totally just bustin' your balls, man!
Love Tori Amos, surprised to hear you like Kate Bush too... she can be an acquired taste for some.
I do think that adding a female element to metal does soften it somewhat, unless your singer is the chick that screams for Ace's band DFHY! She's pretty hardcore!
Or Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy, she is one supremely metal lady! Meow!
But I consider them to be more screamers than actual singers.
One of my favorite female bands was Phantom Blue, the original lineup with the original singer Gigi especially.
That girl had some pipes! She could sing, growl and scream convincingly. The guitarists could really play too. A real shame they didn't hit big, they were great live.
Now the current lineup is good too (they're still around) but the lineup that did the s/t and Built To Perform were really the shit! That album had guest solos by Marty Friedman and John Norum too, pretty cool guests!
Women in metal are cool, just wish there were more of 'em!
