It's good for your testicles too! Actually the second rule of plumbing is that if you don't run a fixture at least once a week it will eventually freeze up or stop up!
The first rule, of course, is that water and shit both flow downhill.Ron is the MAN!!!!

different guitar tonight - the black N2. Full of pizza & choc fudge (ingested separately, not together) and working on the beer buzz again.
damn, I've been playing some guitar lately. Still suck, but having a blast. Seeing Nevermore has had some kind of positive effect on me. Not that I aspire to play like Loomis, I don't even try to play NM songs, but it has reignited some kind of creativity that has been missing for a long time.Hail yesterday

Hey Bill, I got a new string stretching technique you should try out.
First you take the string out of it's packaging. Then you tie one end around your pecker. Then you stand on the other end and watch porn and let nature take it's course.
I would recommend starting with guitar strings before moving on to bass strings.Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

Hey guys, been absent..with the family and all. Vin had to go get checked out for his surgery next week..they're removing the rods in his forearm..in both bones from elbow to wrist..ouch..that sucks.
He's going to be recovering for a while ..so I took him out, fuckin' around buying metal, and some stuff for him..PS2 games..scored some used one that just came out that he wanted..for half price..I can live with that.
I'm going to take him to see Tenacious D.."The pick of Destiny"..either that or Borat..something silly.
OK..I will be starting that list..now this is the stuff I would want to grab if my house was on fire..all genres..so there's something for everyone."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"

Tenacious D doesn't come out until the day before Thanksgiving Bill, at least here it doesn't. Looks like it'll be pretty funny though!
Give Vinny my best man, and tell him to take it easy for awhile after he gets those rods out. He won't have the Arm of Steel anymore! I hope that doesn't hurt too much. I don't normally recommend drugs for kids but I hope they give him some decent pain meds for after surgery.
Just don't give him your stuff Bill! A low dose for you could be an OD for Vinny, narcotics build tolerances and you've been taking them for a long time already! He'll probably have to deal with Tylenol 3 or a low dose of Vicodin. Again, my thoughts are with y'all.Last edited by lerxstcat; 11-12-2006, 08:00 AM.Ron is the MAN!!!!

last but not least, bolt thrower - those once loyal. well, it's bolt thrower good production, simple but effective riffing, some nice songwriting ideas...8/10 i'd say. if it was more diverse it would score higher, but once again, it's bolt thrower
guys, do you know any bands along the lines of kataklysm, machine head, hatesphere - neo thrash/groove death basically - but with CLEAN vox? that'd be way cool....nevermore does just that imho, but i know every nevermore album inside out, it's time for a change dammit
the bolt thrower record on the other hand is starting to bore me...sure, it's nice and punchy, but very repetitive....all the songs sound the same to me, and while i DO like that sound a little diversity wouldn't hurt imho....
and yeah, the question about heavy death/thrash bands with clean vocals is still not quite answered....where are the metal gurus if we need em?!?!

Fragile, when I wrote the song "Death Perception"..it is quite obviosly in a death/thrash style..ala Dimension Zero, The Haunted, Terror 2000, At the Gates..and ect..I thought Ty was going to sing like he did on "High Speed death Roll"..but much to my surprise he sang totally clean and powerful..it wasn't what I had in mind..but it was good..so fuggit..
what happened there was cool..for the fact that most people always say.."I love the music but hate the the vocals"..I brought this song up because it is the perfect and only example that I know of any band that actually did this..
There is bands that do the opposite like Brimstone and such that play "Power" metal and you think your going to hear clean vocals and it totally throws you with "death" metal vocals..which can work too..if done well.
BTW..I feel the same way about Bolt Thrower..pretty good but boring and generic..IMO."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"

yep, that's about the kinda stuff i'm talking about, maybe even a little heavier musically speaking. so you don't know any bands that do that stuff, eh? well.....in the words of the eternal bevis&butthead: this SUCKS!
btw, i was just listening to samples of the latest trivium called the crusade...sounds pretty cool actually! i thought trivium was just another generic post thrash metal metalcore band, but it seems like they really got their shit together...kinda reminds me of metallica at times. but then again, i've only heared a few samples. is it any good?
edit: as for the heavy music/clean vocals thing, the vox don't need to be really clear and chimey...i don't want any high pitched screams or power metal type of singing. more along the lines of early testament or RTL era metallica. clean (read: not death metal) vocals but in an aggressive way, maybe some slight dirt at times.Last edited by Fragle; 11-14-2006, 02:36 PM.
